Bolo Om..

While almost all of Bollywood was committing major fashion offenses at the Saawariya premiere in India, the Om Shanti Om crowd had their premiere in London. And after seeing Sonali Kulkarni’s “insides”, everything seems to please the eyes now! (Even though Deepika’s lehenga totally matches the red carpet!)

Beyonce In Rocky S

Aside from spotting Aishwarya at the Beyonce concert, we spotted Beyonce in a Rocky S outfit. The pink lehenga-choli was from his ’07 Couture Collection. We hear Beyonce picked quite a few pieces from his collection and now we can’t wait to spot her again in some indian attire. She looks pretty good in them.. don’t you agree?

Sushmita Walks The Ramp For Maheka Mirpuri

Maheka Mirpuri presented her latest collection “Khwaahish”. A collection inspired by Maheka’s wish to be a princess ever since she was a little girl. A lot of dresses with empire waists. Lehengas and saris with lots of embroideries. But the showstopper definitely was Sushmita who looked exquisite in a lehenga with a corset top.

Day 5: Swapan And Seema

Swapan and Seema’s collection was dominated by Indian clothes; saris, salwar-kameezes, lehengas and some dresses with Indian influences. Color pallette for the most part stayed muted and delicate but I loved the brown that they used…

The collection didn’t stray far from the tried and tested and was really safe. Saris were delicate and lehengas stayed fresh because they weren’t overworked! Some of the longer dresses were a surprise, they were simple and chic! And short day dresses were cute and young!

But like I said, the collection was very safe, and so, not much did stand out! This was yet another show that was way too safe and uninspired which is turning out to be a bit characteristic of quite a few shows I’ve been watching.

Day 3: Mynah – Renu Tandon

‘Rise and Shine’ was what Renu Tandon’s collection was called which was dominated by the colors of oranges, burnt orange/reds and beiges!

Saris and lehengas were defined by their intricate work and vibrant hues! The longer evening gowns were quite predictably garish, however, the short dresses really worked owing to their simplicity and to the work done on them which was edited down to just what was needed instead of being doled out in copious amounts! Another thing that stood out were the salwar-kameezes, the simpler ones seemed very easy to wear for day, and evening ones kept the embellishments to the minimum while still retaining the glam look!

Was interesting.
