Of Gowns

Both Neha and Neelam attended a recent party wearing vibrant colored gowns. While Neha teamed her Aiisha Ramadan gown with a Bottega Veneta clutch and black pumps, Neelam paired her Bennu Sehgall gown with matching burgundy lip color and champagne-gold colored accessories.

Can’t say I was a fan of either dress; both ladies deserved so much better! That said, the colors stood out and both Neha and Neelam looked radiant.

  1. Not sure why you have these ladies posted together. Don’t like either gowns, though Neelam looks fantastic neck up! How gorgeous is she!

  2. I actually like Neha here. I wish she had worn some jewellery though. Maybe a neckpiece with coloured stones.

@Neelam’s gown had potential. I wish the colour was either deeper or lighter.

  3. Both are held up by the gorgeous colors of their respective outfits radiating on them, also let down by the outfits itself.
Neelam looks beautiful in the wine shade, needed better styling too
Neha looks great in the red, but that’s a huge silhouette with a very eye hitting red

  4. Love the vibrant color on Neelam but that is about it. I’m not a fan of the rich sheen of the fabric.

She looks stunning though. Neha’s look is a fail for me – cut, material, color, fit – nothing seemed to work.

Love her clutch though. Bit of a missed opportunity for two lovely women, if you ask me.

  5. Neha can carry off any dress but this one is too difficult for her also. The dress is such a let down , falls flat , has a visible net neck (or is it bad makeup ).. it’s everything that can go wrong with an outfit . Neha wearing it is the only saving grace if anything.

Neelam is looking radiant and manages to carry off that dress . This round goes to Neelam 🙂

    • Yes, I have been saying this since so long, but it falls to deaf years. Not sure why men are cropped out. Even on Shahid Mira posts, where clearly the man is the celebrity. Instead of pairing these ladies together, which doesn’t make sense, we could just have Neha and Angad, poor men keep getting cropped.. would be refreshing to comment on a couple rather than women all the time!

      • Yes, and also a fair thing to do. I detest that women are being judged for fashion, men for their skills alone. This is 2022, and this blog is definitely not supposed to be one of those TOXIC HIGH SCHOOL BLOGS WHERE THEY RATE APPEARANCES of their female classmates.
P&P, if you can kindly clarify your stance here, I (and perhaps at least few others) would like to decide whether we continue following this. I don’t want to go on judging women in the name of commenting on fashion.

        • We post here to comment on the fashion aspect. Alas, we do not have bandwidth to cover the men most of the time. When we do get the time to post about the men, again, it is about their fashion, not skills. We may or may not agree with some of the comments that the readers leave but moderating such comments makes it a one-sided view. Having said that, it is again the two of us, and we try our best to gauge a comment and whether it violates our policy when approving. Sometimes we also make mistakes that are caught by others. We thank you guys for catching them.

          • Thanks Payal. We can all make incremental changes, isn’t it? How about you won’t cut out men from a couple’s pic? You don’t have to say anything detailed there, just a generic statement if we like it seems like a good start. Or how about every Friday you make a post on men, happy to pitch in to provide you a write up. And I assure you I will visit such posts and will comment on men’s fashion to make a change in way we perceive fashion.

  6. Neha is a beautiful woman but she always looks like she’s drowning in her clothes. Somebody tell her stylist she can dress bohemian or in an oversized fit without wearing tents for clothes.

  7. Okay but how is no one talking about that illusion panel on Neha’s gown? Brings down the look even more (for me there were no redeeming qualities to begin with).

Barring the studded buckle and dated sandals, Neelam fares far better.

  8. I have to call this out…both Neelam and Vidya Balan have this habit of wearing their belts right under their bust – every single time, instead of wearing it at the correct level, thats a few inches lower at their waist.

Its likely an attempt by the stylist to show the narrowest part of their torso and guve an illusion of a small waist. But it works teh wrong way by giving a very top heavy look and makes their waist look unnecessarily expanded. I am imagining this same outfit with the belt 5 inches lower and it woudve made for such a sharp stylish sighting. tut tut TUT
