Sari Style
Wearing black saris, Manushi and Mira attended the Vogue event on Wednesday. Given all of Sabyasachi‘s offerings, Manushi in this black ruffle sari just felt so underwhelming. Can’t say I liked. As for Mira, who wore Peachoo, she did look nice. I don’t understand why most folks picked black for the day event. So many missed opportunities.

Mira has been featured on these pages since she married Shahid a few years ago and never even once she has done an OTT outfit. It’s always understated elegance.
The gloves on Manushi are so bad ! Mira is well turned out as usual.
I might receive some flak for this but kind of thinks Manushi looks great here. She has attempted something different.
Mira’s look is nice but a wee bit underwhelming.
Agree! Manushi looks elegant. May be the gloves could go but that’s the only gripe. She’s wearing the ruffle saree better than most. Mira as usual is her elegant self. Kudos that she maintains her individual style!
tbh, the gloves are looking lovely . Understated classic elegance. Something that says saree and gown are similar in more than one ways.
+1
1. How is Manushi’s outfit called designer? It feels more like a chiffon/georgette black saree that almost all of us own, with just a sabyasachi belt that she found at the corner of her house. All that said though, she looks better than most of her recent outings.
2. How is Mira a ‘Voice of Fashion’? What did she do?
The ‘why black in the day’ part made me think of what day colours and fabrics are? The whites, ivorys, florals, Kasavs, Chikankaris and Jamdanis, diaphanous Maheshwaris, Chanderis, and Chiffons, the beautiful shades of yellow, blue, and purple. I know these have no place in the world of ‘designer-stylist run/ruled no-sense-of-personal-style-celebrity dressing’ but then you do spot someone original and authentic, and you have a moment of pure style joy. ?
Manushi’s look is very modern. if only the gloves are of better fit or opaque.
Looks like Manushi’s stylist was going for an updated India-inspired Breakfast at Tiffany’s Hepburn look, and I think it works. Just the gloves needed to be better.
Mira looks elegant.
I dont mind the gloves in Manushi’s look. Somehow they work. I would preferred to see small stone studs instead of the necklace on her. Necklace and belt both seem little much.
I like Manushi’s outfit – including the gloves, except for that ring.
IT’s just too jarring against that entire look which is basically classic black- take it away and it is a good outfit.
