Wearing a green long gown from Anita Dongre Madhuri attended an awards function this week. Between the heavy makeup and the outfit itself, the look felt very costumey.
On the other hand, her outings in the Tanieya Khanuja and the Genny was so striking. Loved her in those two. See them inside.

agree re: the green outfit but overall this promo tour has made a nice change from the lehengas and embroidered sarees we usually see her in. there have been a few missteps with proportions (that black feathery Merabi dress and the red Safiyaa comes to mind) but overall, it’s a good hit-refresh, esp with the updated hair. can’t remember the last time i bothered commenting on a madhuri appearance.
It’s a great dress and not bad for an awards night! How do you find this costumy when as a practice elaborate gowns are worn to awards?
I like the green outfit. More defined shoulders like these lightly padded ones are a great fit for Madhuri. I agree the makeup and accessories could have been lighter. The gown is ornate enough.
She looks great in all three! Pray tell how is the green outfit costumey? It’s an award show, so a little bit of showiness is ok. I mean we have female actors wrapping themselves in less environmentally friendly plastic saris and dresses for award shows which get kudos on these pages, so the green dress is just fine.

For an awards show, the green outfit is not costumey at all.
The green outfit is not that bad IMHO. The makeup and hair brings it down quite a bit. The styling is totally off.
Loving the bottom pics, especially the black suit owing to the hair. She should change up her hair more often. But overall she has been having a decent run this season and I’m loving it!
