In Manish Malhotra

Kriti received her Best Actress awards at the 69th National Film Awards in Delhi wearing a cream and gold benarasi sari from Manish Malhotra. Kriti looked lovely.

Let’s talk about the sari though. The cassatta pastel color scheme with the cream and gold seemed so out of place to me. But, I can imagine it like being caught between a rock and hard place for the designer. A designer has to add something of unique of his own and if you remove the pastel detail and the sari would be like a Sabya signature design( a Benarasi sari with embellished borders.)

  1. There’s no need to criticize this saree when you guys gave a free pass to a ganji and lungi combo that Shanaya wore. This is 1000 times better than that yet you have to nitpick.

  2. I would have added a polki necklace along the line of the blouse neck to cut off the rounded edge.

I have no issues with the saree or the dual pattern. I’m sure if some other bollywood lady would have worn it, would have recieved lesser criticism than Kriti.

  3. Kriti looks lovely. That said though, the sequin strip/border has no business being on top of the lovely zari border. what is it even adding?

  4. She looks lovely! Simple and elegant. Styling is perfect and I love that she kept the eye make up minimal. The cassatta pastel color scheme adds a really nice visual interest which otherwise would’ve been a run of the mill saree.

  5. Love the pastel shades. Nice touch but there is no denying that a more impactful look was expected out of Kriti… that’s what happens when you are Ms. Sanon.

  6. Nice saree. Good colors. How is it that she’s winning the same award with Alia Bhatt and her movie came out in 2021 and Alia’s last year. How does this add up?

  7. The pastel part was good in fact .. n blouse should have been like that. Would have brought it together… This stark white Sabya style blouse was the let down for me …

  8. She looks beautiful. Love the saree and the pattern; makes the saree not look like usual Sabya design. But something on her neck would have made an impact.

  9. She must be another “manish malhotra bride” in the waiting 🙂 🙂 the color does not suit her at all especially because of the blouse. It looks like a sabya copy.
