Kiran attended a wedding reception last evening wearing a silk bandhani sari by The Pot Plant. Understated jewelry, minimalist sandals and a Saint Laurent clutch rounded out the filmmaker’s look. She looked nice!

I sometimes don’t understand this intentional ‘weird’ saree draping. It is one thing to wear a saree in an organic casual way, this is definitely not that.. but how is this particular drape nice???what is the point they try to convey with such draping(can I even call it saree draping)
For many years, Kiran’s atrocious fashion choices were given a pass under the garb of being quirky. I don’t think so…she is just a bad dresser. Case in point how she ruined this beautiful saree by pairing it with a dull blouse and draping the saree so badly.

I get that this is her general aesthetic but the pallu would have looked lovely pleated and still fit her aesthetic nicely.

I like the simplicity of the look. Having said that I don’t think the blouse is the best match for this saree. Also the saree is badly wrapped. So overall, Kiran looks rather unkempt.

The Gray offsets the saturated Red well, other than that, the overall look is kinda blah!

Kiran’s face definitely looks nice, but it’s not a well put-together look at all. It’s a pretty sari in a pretty colour, and deserved better than that grey blouse. We’ve seen Kiran do better.
May be I don’t see it but doesn’t look like any thought was given to this look. Sure the saree, heels and clutch are nice but that blouse doesn’t go well with the saree. It certainly doesn’t photograph well.

I had loved her sense of style and quirkiness for the many years when she came into limelight.
But now, her efforts seems forced. Sorry Kiran, you look shabby here.
For once I disagree with Kiran’s style choices. A sleeveless red blouse is an obvious but pleasing replacement. Looking forward to her next appearance. 🙂
So many things clashing. The grey doesn’t complement the red and golden hues of her saree. And the black clutch is a monstrosity. A simple golden blouse and a golden potli would have made a huge difference to the look..i wonder how celebs with access to so much make such silly style mistakes

Feels like this post is a joke. I love the saree and accessories, and she certainly looks sweet… But the outfit is clearly a mess, and to overlook that entirely in the actual post… hmmm, what?!!
The style is quite dated by now. Messy drapes, running shoes, antifit blouses have all had their turn under the sun methinks. Kiran probably feels it expresses her best so it is fine if she continues with it.
Turning up this shabby with ‘I don’t care’ written all over the drape is disrespectful to the event one is attending. Just don’t go if you don’t care. Such a beautiful saree though… I hope someone who respects the saree, event and family behind it, wears this saree the right way with right pairing.
I absolutely agree that it is disrespectful. In fact I went back to see some of her outfits for the Ambani weddings and while she stayed true to her style, the outfits were better put together for sure. Here she looks like she is attending a play, not a wedding reception.
What exactly do you mean by “she looked nice” ? In which universe ? Do you mean “looked” as in Facial features or her overall “look”? Kiran got away with a lot of nonsensical looks in the past, possibly because she was a superstar’s wife and no one wanted to displease her, but come on folks! Put any lay person’s face on this attire and it would never pass muster in any fashion universe whatsoever. Kiran has always made poor sartorial choices but for some reason the creators of this blog give her a pass every single time.
