At the Digital awards evening, Kareena was seen in a burgundy draped sari and embroidered corset from Tarun Tahiliani. The corset being part sheer was a bit off a turnoff but that is a minor gripe.
Unpopular opinion but yet again, I didn’t think this look worked on Kareena. The outfit itself felt dated and the finishing touches didn’t elevate it either. I feel like Rhea (her stylist today) gets so lost in the “sourced something vintage/archival/not the ordinary” that she loses focus on how to style the piece to match today’s sensibilities.

Spot on observation Payal! Both the Kapoor sisters take these “looks” so seriously, that the avante garde nature of the outfit OR its provenance becomes the focus instead of how it actually translates on the wearer.

Not at all a miss. She does this way too often to her clients.
I get what she’s doing but it’s not flattering for her. Shame on the dresser for pushing their agenda over what works for the client.
I think it looks very pretty on her, I liked it and found it to be striking.

The outfit reminds me of Aishwarya Rai’s Cannes appearances in Neeta Lulla. Did not work in Aishwarya and these looks are not working on Kareena.
I remember this! This look was dated 20 years ago. Both stunning women let down by the stylists choices

I’m basis so I really liked this look but Out of curiosity PayPal, what kind of changes would you suggest to this outfit so it didn’t appear dated and more in line with today’s sensibilities?
Wish the drape was like a normal saree, cos the colour looks delish on Bebo.
