In Prabal Gurung

Isha and Diya (Shloka’s sister) attended the Met Gala wearing Prabal Gurung’s designs. Isha prefers comfort and I have no issue with that. But, the crystal lined kaftan-esque gown with that mile-long unnecesary train being called a sari gown was laughable. It was such lazy design. I was not a fan of it.

Diya, on the other hand, looked impeccable in her tailored one and I sure loved the addition of the diamond jada piece from her mom’s personal collection.

P.S. That’s a Chanel bag from the Paris-Bombay collection of 2012 on Isha.

  1. Diya is an impeccably dressed woman, I loved her looks for NMACC & Dior as well. Love seeing her experiment with fashion.

    • She messes up her sister’s styling though. I wish she would embrace more of Shloka’s genuine personality and not turn her into some one else. There is no harm being plain and basic.

  2. Completely opposite….thought Isha looked fab in her outfit, very regal and classy. Was not a fan of Diya’s outfit, there was nothing stand out about it but of course the jada is gorgeous.

  3. I loved Isha’s outfit, very classy and has the old school charm about it. The emerald looks awesome on Diya, but the tons of satin makes it look a bit kiddish IMO.
But of course, the star of the show is that jada. Just referring it to as jada, and not some random headpiece made me happy, thank you Payal:). And I think the stylists did a great job in not make it look gimmicky and still blend it in with the rest of the outfit. So classy!

  4. On the contrary I feel that Isha looks smashing. Her outfit is in sync with the Met vibes.

Diya looks great too. What a wonderful jada <3

  5. I actually didn’t mind Isha’s as much, but yeah lazily designed as you say.
I didn’t like Diya’s one bit..that ugly shiny satin and the draping that makes it look like it was fitted for Kim Kardashian at the back, and then the unconnected halter black top half. And then there is the Jada – as beautiful as it is as a solo piece of jewelry, it had no connection what so ever with the outfit or Diya. It felt like she did an arangetram and rushedly changed but left her hair style as is.

Nah neither cut it for me

    • I didn’t think the jada needed to be connected with the dress – that would have made it too costumey, and more arangetrami-ish. But its beauty was lost with the dress. I’m trying to imagine it against a fully black back, a simple sheath – instead, it’s got the background of skin then black, then satin – very patchy look.

  6. Both outfits are poorly made , lazy and random . The jada is gorgeous though . Wish it had better clothes to showcase with .

  7. Beautiful representation of desi beauty and style…..I am glad they did not abandon thier personalities which includes the bling. The jada can buy your name on a gallery at the Met!

  8. Isha is so pretty. She could be mistaken for an actress. I think her outfit is very classy and elegant and it works well for her in this instance.
