In Prabal Gurung

Isha and Diya (Shloka’s sister) attended the Met Gala wearing Prabal Gurung’s designs. Isha prefers comfort and I have no issue with that. But, the crystal lined kaftan-esque gown with that mile-long unnecesary train being called a sari gown was laughable. It was such lazy design. I was not a fan of it.

Diya, on the other hand, looked impeccable in her tailored one and I sure loved the addition of the diamond jada piece from her mom’s personal collection.

P.S. That’s a Chanel bag from the Paris-Bombay collection of 2012 on Isha.

In Chanel

In their India-inspired Chanel gowns, Naomi and Penelope stood out at the Met Gala instantly for me but between the two, Naomi in her bejewelled sari-inspired salmon pink gown was the one I was lusting over. She looked amazing in it.

As for Penelope, I personally don’t think she and the brand are a good match (they just always seem to put her gowns that do nothing for her) but this one was one of her better outings.

In Valentino

Priyanka attended the Met Gala wearing Valentino and jewellery from Bvlgari. I really loved the hairdo but I feel between the hairdo and that ruffle, the look felt too disconnected. I picture this gown without the ruffle but with that contrast white sleeve detail and that would’ve made for a simple yet impactful look.

What did you think of her outing?

In Schiaperelli

Natasha delivered in her Schiaparelli gown at the MET Gala, and then some. I loved it. The hair and make-up complemented the gown well and the gown itself was a clever wink and a nod to Karl’s cat. This outing reminds me of vintage Nat P, when the looks she picked spoke to her personal style and she’d own the room in ’em (versus now when the “look” usually enters the room first and eventually you take in the woman wearing it).

In Prabal Gurung

It’s Met Gala Monday and at her first ever appearance at the event Alia was seen in a pearl encrusted victorian gown by Prabal Gurung. With the theme this year being “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty”, the pearls and and the glove were the obvious nod to the late designer.

Alia being Alia looked sweet but I wasn’t loving the Victorian style gown which made the look overall feel too prom-ish.

What say you?
