Wearing sparkly dresses that featured a geometric pattern and thigh-high slit, both Huma and Sophie attended Manish Malhotra’s Couture show in Mumbai. First things first, wasn’t a fan of either gown/look- Sophie could do so much better! But it was Huma that was really let down.
Look, a Couture show is a perfect opportunity to play with outlandish proportions and volume but at the end of the day it still has to work. And the look on Huma just doesn’t. The necklace needed to go, the sandals should’ve been a simple ankle-strap, and while the sleek knot was the right move, Huma just looked overwhelmed under all that pattern. The actor deserved better!

I’m actually liking MM this time… This collection is quite classy!
There’s way too much going on with Huma’s look, from that gaudy neck piece to her footwear, none of it is working for her. As for Ms. Sophie, perhaps a sleek ponytail or a top bun was better suited here.
I actually really liked Huma here. She looks nice, comfortable and happy too.
The sleek knot works for her.
The slit on Sophie makes the design look a bit shoddy.
But thank heavens MM has decided to let bling go for a while.
