Game. Set. Match.

Pia matched her shoes and belt. Hard Kaur matched her shoes to her ‘unmentionables’! 😉 Umm, you haven’t been reading this blog long enough if we gotta tell you which of the two doesn’t work for us!!

On an aside, the diktat that you have to match your shoes with your belt, or with your bag, or all three went out with the padded shoulders! Just make it work by keeping it in the same color family or go a step further and play with colors if you have the panache to carry off the contrasts. Having said that, its no crime to match a teeny bit, lets just not go over-board!

  1. her bra seems too low. its just barely covering her nippular area. she needs to learn the basics.
u kno u got a bad outfit when ppl are talking about ur unmentionables.

  2. hard kaur’s outfit is definitely the worst of all the bad ones ever posted on this site.

i never thought a jumpsuit could look elegant but pia makes it work.

  3. Excuse me, but I don’t think anybody sees the point in Ms. Kaur’s sense of dressing. She often dresses crass, vulgar and in-your-face, but that’s not a fashion mistake she’s making. The woman has her fashion sensibilities in the right place, as often demonstrated on this blog, but she mostly chooses to shock and make some sort of a statement. In contrast, Pia Trivedi looks like a boring social X-ray (a phrase immortalized by Tom Wolfe in Bonfire of Vanities)

  4. @partho – if what you’re saying is true then it’s too sad that hard kaur has decided to seek attention by dressing crassly. i think you’re wrong that she’s trying to make a statement as she’s not a manipulative person. she’s just sometimes a bad dresser.

I think you’re philosophizing too much about about Hard Kaur’s sense of dressing…….I don’t think that she even thinks about all that when she’s getting dressed I think, just like mia said, she’s just a bad dresser……..but I do think that she tries to attract attention and she does but for all the wrong reasons….remember that dress at the kismet konnection music launch where she’s pressing her boobs together and into the camera, If that ain’t trying to seek attention….

  8. Thanks for the tip about matching. What about (traditional) Indian outfits that often have lots of color? I think that’s part of why Indian celebs like going matchy…..because sometimes with Indian outfits you have to, and that sensibility is still ingrained in many of them, esp. people my Mom’s generation.
Let’s say you’re wearing a saree w/ a red background and turqoise border/palla….can your bag or shoes or bindi be red? Or turqoise? Or do they have to be a different color? Now if you pick that same ‘different’ color for the bag and the shoes you’d be too matchy. So you pick TWO different colors, and…..lo and behold, you’re a walking color chart. And that’s with a outfit with just TWO colors. I try to do black/brown/neutral colors whenver I can (for bags, shoes) but sometimes they don’t go with the loud, colorful Indian outfit….

  9. I really dont mind my clothes matching my bra but i usually reveal it that proudly as hard kaur…but hard kaur didnt do it right….because if u see close she is kinda wearin her bra on the stomach like its so eww. If her shoes were pumps it would have worked better than those 2cents sandals.

  11. There’s only one word that comes to my mind when I look at Hard Kaur – even just her face – with her hair color and red lipstick – “Vulgar”.

  12. And oh btw, as Juhi mentioned above, she is wearing tacky yellow earrings, and with bright eye makeup and bright red lipstick..

I think its insulting to this blog to even put that woman on here…

  13. Say what you will about Hard Kaur, the lady knows how to make a splash. Her look seems to be an extension of her personality so one can argue that she is being true to her nature. She reminds me of Gwen Stefani in her youth (think early 90s).

Both ladies seem to be uber confident in their outfits, in my opinion that’s what matters most. Anyone who can carry off the most atrocious outfit with elan is a true fashionista.

  14. Oh come on, I think some of us here are being unnecessarily hard on, err, Hard Kaur. She’s in showbiz, it’s her job to make a splash whichever way she can. She’s not an actor, so just the face doesn’t work, so she tries to do it with her outfit. Sometimes she hits bull’s eye (Singh is King music launch), sometimes she doesn’t (here). But to say she doesn’t know what she’s doing is putting her down.

  15. but nadia that’s the thing, sometimes it’s just bad and no amount of her exuding confidence will fix it. sometimes a dress is just THAT bad.

i mean…wearing an illfitting bra…no amount of confidence can carry it off.

agree with anita…she does tend to look vulgar sometimes.

also with the matchy matchy thing….ive actually just come to the conclusion, if YOU think it looks good, then wear it. coz everyone has a different taste. so i don’t think we should think about that much.
although of course matching everything is horrible. i remember when i was little, i bought everything in one colour to wear TOGETHER. Red shirt, red 3/4s, red shoes and then wore red hair tye etc etc. *sigh* where was my mum then??! would’ve appreciated her yellin at me. lol
