The India Couture Week just concluded in Delhi and here are all the celebs that served as show stoppers for some of the designers. Most wore colors that washed them out and the rest just felt like same ‘ol same ‘ol. Color me unimpressed.
As for the collections, Rimzim Dadu and Anamika had the more interesting designs given the Couture theme.

Oh and this explains the craze for the bikini tops and blouses .. don’t they make ‘‘em regular blouses anymore ?
I was abt to make the usual ‘did you see the mirror’ comment abt Bhumi P. in the mermaid-esque outfit but then I see Ranbir’s ecstatic facial expression and I am filled with joyousness that I forget any other comment I want to make.
I agree that these collections seem to be woefully lacking inspiration.
That aside, it seems almost cruel in any photo spread to place Bhumi next to Disha of all people. Whelp!

Ranbir looks like a fry cook.
Sara is literally in a bedazzling, sequined, bejeweled lehanga and a bra
Athiya looks lovely, her matte lip color is gorg
I dont know how and when the bra became a formal blouse. None of the models wearing it as a blouse looks good. Every one of those outfits look incomplete.
So much absence of creativity here!!
Does couture mean sparkly lehnega?
Maybe I’m in the minority here but Kiara’s whole outfit blew my mind- I’m obsessed with it.
Also lots of comments about the whole “bra as formal top” aesthetic , but I’ve got to say, in all of the weddings and celebrations I’ve been to I’ve seen desi girls crush these looks and I’m here for it.
Athiya is also fantastic, but I think she carries pretty much anything well. I think Bhumi’s outfit is my least favourite- she looks so uncomfortable and that whole outfit is such a hodge podge of things sort of tacked on.

The Anamika khanna looks great! The rest are just different ways to show off a woman’s body…. And they aren’t even doing that well. Barring Shobhita every one of the skirts is worn high so the curve of the waist is hidden
I really loved Anamika Khanna’s collection and Athiya in it. That is the best combination.
I think Ananya looks pretty good in her Dadu. First time seeing her diplay a semblance of personality.
As for the rest, as diet prada rightly put it, they look like different versions of paneer.
They actually are following a template – bikin blouse, bare midriff, sparkly barnacle fabric, one leg out/crinoline poufed skirt.
Makes me wonder – were the designers served a memo to follow this template with their designs and just AK and Dadu missed the mails?
Couture week? Same silhouettes in different colors, modeled by Bollywood not actual models! Too silly!
It must be exhausting to be a young actress these days and maintanining that upper torso. The memo for male costars on the other hand seems to be cover every inch.
Despite the washed out colour, Athiya and Aditi stand out simply because they have bucked the trend.
Sobhita, why would you agree to this.
Ranbir should not try to do a Ranveer.
Couture literally means made to measure and half of these women look like they’re wearing clothes made for someone else, what is happening
I have been to her show room in New Delhi and she is very good when it comes to overcoats. The coat on Athiya is beautiful.

But also, can’t stop giggling at Ishan Khatar and his “shirt is stuck in zipper” ensemble. Only Athiya is passable, if even that.
Love Ritu kumar and Anamika’s stance for classiness in a sea of tackiness.

I pray that they are very well paid for showing up in these hiduous bras and skirts.
So it is either bralette and lehenga or bralette and thigh high mermaid-esque skirt for the ladies. No novelty, no nothing.
Only stand outs: Anamika Khanna’s signature design, Aditi with a completely covering top and men.

Are men supplied more cloth than women 🙂 They are always covered form top to bottom compared to women.
Leaving Aditi and Athiya, it looks like a bra fashion show.

Ladies look so bad here, desperate, with ethnic Indian wear like a lehenga n blouse now look like sarong n bras with humongous embroidery, stones, bathed in make up. Ranbir looks funny, n could barely walk in the wrap thing. Ishan looks fine, could’ve looked better with cleaner styling.
Seriously if all designers could give fashion a break n look back at what’s going on, maybe pause n redo Instead of heaps of this trash year on year.
