Plaid (im)Perfect

One to not shy away from plaids (remember this and this?), Akshay was spotted pairing a grey Burberry plaid shirt with a purple plaid tie. Question is, does it work? For us, not really, every though we love the purple.

The Bow-Tie Brigade

These men, each of whom I’ve had a major crush on at one point or another, chose to wear bow-ties to the GQ Men Of The Awards tonight. Now, I’d like to say they all looked amazing but sticking out like a sore thumb was Ranbir. Hated the suit, the hair and the scruffy look.

My favorite? Rahul, but of course!

P.S. John was presented with the GQ Legend Award and presented the Cinematic Icon Award to Aamir. Rahul hosted the awards function and Ranbir won the Chivas Presents Actor Of The Year Award.

Gowning Glory?

A long time ago, I had wished that Priyanka would wear her custom Ferragamo heels with a dark-hued gown that had a thigh-high slit. Well, all of it didn’t quite happen today but at the GQ Men Of The Year Awards 2010, she did wear a gown with a thigh-high slit (a Dior).

As much as it made her look like a dusky beauty, the color of the gown didn’t feel rich enough and I didn’t care for pairing the gown with slip-on sandals.

P.S. Priyanka won Woman Of The Year awards.

Couple Talk

Cover Man Abhishek and Aishwarya made a handsome couple at the GQ India Men Of The Years Awards held tonight in Mumbai.

Although AB Jr. looked a bit tired, his fabulous 3-piece suit more than made up for it. We rarely seen men wear those and wear it well. Aishwarya wore an icy-hued Alberta Ferretti chiffon gown which I loved on her. She kept the jewellery to a minimum, offsetting the tiny jewel detail on the neckline with a jewelled Leiber clutch.

P.S. Abhishek won Ultimate GQ Man Of The Year and Aishwarya, The Excellence Award.

On The Ramp

At the charity fashion show extravaganza Indian Princess, several designers showed their most recent designs with celebrities on the runway. Soha Ali Khan and Maria walked for Archana Kochhar, Urmila for Krishna Mehta and Mugdha Godse for Manali Jagtap.

We don’t get how so many celebs are so eager to wear Archana Kochhar’s designs but have to admit that these two faired much better than some others who we’ve seen in her (Archana’s) designs. Of the lot, Urmila sure was a clear winner in a beige empire-waisted gown paired with a long jacket. Made her look tall and statuesque. Of course, the 2-inch platforms helped too!
