In Masaba

At the Jain-Malhotra wedding reception, Athiya was photographed in a lehenga by Masaba. Wearing her hair back, she rounded out the look with jewelry by Amrapali. Ivory and emeralds go perfectly together and this look should’ve worked, as most looks do on Athiya and yet, I am left feeling underwhelmed. For starters, wish she had worn the dupatta differently. Because it is tone-on-tone, and super long, it looks disproportionately fabric heavy and clunky at the bottom. One of those rare misses for Athiya!

  1. Honestly, I don’t think the look is working for Athiya here!! Hair makes her look (not in a good way) and the choli goes even shorter and deep!! Dont like the design at all!! She has done better!

  2. I am going to blame this on the material, the cut, the cloth and the design. Masaba creations have never impressed me and frankly I have no idea how she has such a celeb following.

  3. That blouse is horrid in every sense of the word – it’s made the upper quarter of her body look so disproportionate and warped.

Masala is as overrated as they get – never did understand how putting a yellow kettle on a black sari classified as “high fashion”.

  4. If one were to cover Athiya’s face in these phots and just look at the image neck down, one could easily mistake it for Sarita Choudhury’s role as the queen in Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love. And could one really be blamed for that honest mistake?

  5. I think she fares well than the other sparkly lehengas that others wore for the wedding! Like the Muted colour! I think may be thedupatta was made long for her height !

  6. while it is no big deal to not cover “your girls” these days, this blouse and this cut however makes me feel like it would have been better if it was fully or partially covered. that would have given the dupatta some job to do and not flounder in a heap at her feet.
