Blackout

Aishwarya attended the trailer launch of Ponniyin Selvan in Chennai wearing a black kurta suit with diamond and emerald jewellery. The kurta suit was nice, the middle parted hair though was quite a downer.

  1. The suit does look nice in the non-cropped picture. Here it looks a bit blurred but I guess there aren’t any high-resolution pictures anywhere – not even on Aastha Sharma’s account.

  2. No comments because what I actually want to say will get the comments censored. Hair on the face has always been her trick to make her face appear narrower so that won’t go away soon.

  3. Appreciate her low key grounded self not fussing, infact like most do obsessing about her appearance.. but, the first 2 pics are scary and 3rd is pretty.

  4. She’s the one person who rocks the scraped pulled back hair with jasmine flowers, wish she had opted that for this occasion.nevertheless she looks lovely as always!

  5. Just because the character she plays (nandini) is villanous I feel she has chosen to wear black. But she looks scary, and not in a good way. The hair and make up just unneccessarily ages her so much

    • I think they are all given a dress code advisory to suit their character – Ash’s character Nandini is the vengeful antagonist. For the first teaser all female actors showed up in bronze and maroon shades with temple jewelry. For this occasion most wore Ekaya – Eka Lakhani is costume designer for Mani’s last few. However ARB is missing from her insta , so I guess it might be Aastha Sharma styling her. All jewelry in the movie is from Kishandas & Co which is what they are likely sporting at this event.

  6. good lord. the hair is such a disaster — why not just a low bun or even a regular one with flowers itit?! I just don’t get it. Also super tired of this constant expression of Barjatiya style “piety” on her face ALL the time no matter what the occasion. She has that expression in EVERY pic. Glad to not see a red lippie for a change, so i guess there’s that.

  7. I tend to criticize Aishwariya’s sense of style a lot, however, I really like this look. She looks absolutely lovely. The outfit is gorgeous and the green jewels are stunning. Yeah, the hair could have been better, but I’m tired of the ultra glamour looks of late.

  8. Sigh – this woman just needs to trust her styling team, she is simply beautiful, she needs to experiment with her hair and makeup. Her hair brings down the look so much. Also she should had lost the bangle, too much obvious Emerald going on. Beautiful outfit, worn badly 🙁

  9. This is much better than her usual looks, if you ask me.

There is no red lip, which is a great relief.

The hair needed change but the outfit is neither a tent anarkali nor a chammak challo salwar suit, which is her usual.

I take this look any day over her usual garish 90s styling.

  10. Ill fitted suit & dull , the jewelry isn’t really going with this outfit . The hair is a disaster but I agree it’s definitely styled this way to make the face look smaller

  11. I read all the comments here, and the most common theme is the disapproval of her hairstyle…even though I am a fan of hers, the grace with which she carries herself, at all the time, yet I would love to see her experimenting more with her outfit choices…too much defensive outfit choices and hairstyles have dulled her… here the outfit is nice as general, but this is her regular style, to wear long anarkalis – ALL THE TIME…I so want to see something exciting on her…also, it can not be emphasized enough that the hairstyle is extremely drab…a low bun would have been nicer…she should be over and done with these defensive tricks in hair and make-up.

  12. I have never been a fan of Ash, despite that my heart aches to see such a beautiful woman let down by such sartorial choices.

Okay she has gained some weight, why not find styles that complement her rather than wearing these drowning anarkalis and boring hairstyle. They do nothing for her.
None of the ‘tricks’are successful in making her look slimmer so why not move on.. Sorry but I am going to say it – it’s the middle parted straight sleek hairdo that aged her and brings her look down each time.

May be they were attempting for some historical period look?I don’t know! Me thinks she would have simply looked regal in an elegant kanjeevaram with a low bun.

    Ok,rant over ?
