Elephanta Tales

If you live in London, you’ve probably noticed brightly colored baby elephants all around the streets. These baby elephants are part of the Elephant Parade, a conservation campaign that is trying to highlight the crisis faced by endangered Asian elephant.

Corporations, fashion designers and artists came together to put this project together and there are several of them featuring Indian influences too. From the design world, designers Abu-Sandeep, Manish Arora and Tarun Tahiliani have one of their own. From the arts world, Nilesh Mistry got to design not one but three.

But, the most surprising part of the parade has got to be that all the IPL Teams also have one of their own. Where India is concerned, Cricket does trump everything else.

Catch all of the designs inside and thanks ‘Kirthi’ for bringing the parade to our attention.

P.S. If you can’t cover it all (considering they are spread out all over the city), you can catch all of the elephants on the official viewing days at the Royal Hospital Chelsea on the 25th, 26th and 28th of June. Get more info Here.

Also In Manav Gangwani

Even though designer Manav Gangwani didn’t show a collection at the IIFA Fashion Rocks event, he still got to dress up almost all the ladies at the IIFA Awards.

Kim wore a silver jersey gown with a silver Jimmy Choo candy clutch. Yesteryear’s actress Zeenat Aman (who was awarded a lifetime achievement award) wore a black satin gown with lace sleeves paired with a black clutch. Raima wore black chiffon gown also paired with a black clutch.

Kim does stand out for the sole reason that her dress has more pizazz because of the silver color and even though it’s a very simple design, it’s much better than Raima’s slouchy drape that really isn’t flattering. I would have preferred Zeenat’s gown without the one-sided shoulder detail but wow, she still looks so regal.

Feeling Blue

It’s a ‘Love’ for me. And that’s not tennis speak.

Ms. Rai Bachchan looked absolutely lovely in a blue dress at the French Open, which she attended representing Longines. Having kept the make-up natural and the accessories minimal, she really let the vibrant blue of her dress do all the talking. Great move if you ask us! Now, if only the hair hadn’t gone unnoticed by her/her stylist.

Travel(v)ogue: Part Deux

Another one bites the dust. And by that we mean the ‘Hermès’ Birkin dust. Ms. Ranaut was spotted toting around a yummilicious orange Birkin while returning from Colombo. It’s a good thing she has that color on her because that yoga-style-sports jacket is killing her grey tank/black leggings look.

P.S. Am amazed that even a bandaged foot didn’t stop Kangana from wearing pumps. Seems like it was fashion over comfort in her case.
