Falguni and Shane Peacock’s 2008 Collection

Source

Thats Sameera Reddy, flanked by models on either side, in Mumbai at the preview of fashion designers Falguni and Shane Peacock’s Spring/Summer 2008 collection and in one of their outfits!

I don’t care for the actual outfit that Sameera is wearing but what the other two models are wearing looks really interesting! If these pieces are anything to go by, the collection definitely looks promising and I’d love to look at more pieces from the collection…

When Fendi Does Fugly!

Buy Via Saks

Thats the Fendi Leopard Small Palazzo Bag priced at $1990! Its like one of their infamous bucket bags and has a leopard print and logo canvas lining! And it gets better, no worse, it is a goat hair bag, with leather accents and twisted handles! Eecks! It has a drawstring closure, and if only they threw in a safe and a key to lock in the monstrosity, wouldn’t it make a perfect buy?

What could be wrong with the bag below, I wonder? Is it the technicolor palette? Is it the clear sequins? Or the logos all over the place? Did I mention, all over? Is it the red piping? I wonder what about this Fendi Forever Sequined Borsa bag priced at $760, qualifies it as ‘fugly’! Oh, how I wonder! (Sheesh!)

You seriously aren’t wondering why The Fendi Large Sequin Spy Bag made the list, are you? But just in case, you are (and I can’t think why?!!), its just one word for you..sequins!! Ghastly, monstrous sequins! Nightmare inducing sequins. Ugly, ugly sequins! And at $4890, bloody expensive sequins! Sequins are a definitive trend this Fall, but when done like this…shudders!

This one just takes the cake! The shape? The color? Everything? Priceless! Sarcasm people, sarcasm! Patchwork calfskin bag, the handles of which can also be folded over so that it can be carried like a clutch! And if you were to carry it like a clutch, with dimensions of 18″x 9″ (with acrylic panel folded over) x 2″, that is one big sized clutch to carry! Oh, and it doesn’t come cheap at $2,370!

And the bag below, oh boy! There are so many things wrong with it, where does one start? I hate the fact that their logo is slapped all over the place (again)! I mean, there is not one teeny bit left unclaimed! I don’t know what is worse, if it is the leopard like, overtly branded appliqué logo or the ruched effect on the corners with orange topstitching…Shudders (again)!! Does anyone love their Fendi so much that they are willing to, well, carry Fendi all over them? I bet there are a few of them out there with a love for the label and $1,220 burning a serious hole in their pocket..the unfortunate’ness of it all!!

The ‘Green’ Campaign

Its been a while now since the Simmons Jewelry Co. introduced the Green Initiative collection and those divine green bracelets. I saw the ad first in July, in Vanity Fair but only the other day did I see someone actually wearing it! And it just is totally pretty! And the fact that it goes towards a good cause, should warm your heart and make you feel less guilty about buying trinkets!

Buy Via Simmons Jewelry Co

The Green Bracelets are made from green malachite and rough, African diamonds. Half of the profits from the sales of the bracelets will benefit Simmons’ Diamond Empowerment Fund (D.E.F.), an international, nonprofit organization that aims to raise money for educational programs in Africa. Each bracelet is priced at $125. My only grouse is that, look how wonderful Kimora Lee looks with a bunch of bundled bracelets, but at $125 a piece thats sadly not a look for me to flaunt!

But hey, its for a great cause and a lot of celebs are wearing them too! Are you?

Twice In A Row!

Source

And here is Gul Panag again on my radar, for reasons not so rosy!

Ms. Panag was at the Audio Launch of Manorama Six Feet under, working the bare midriff look, yet again! Is it just me or she looks like she is out and about in her night clothes? So ok, we get it, you have a flat stomach and great abs, but there are better ways to drive that point home. There have got to be. And that peachy excuse of an outfit just won’t fly!

She is a such a beautiful woman and its such a shame that she keeps popping up on my radar!

And now compare that to the lacy, whimsical dress that Charlize Theron wore for the premiere of her new movie, The Valley Of Elah at the Venice Film Festival!

Source

The colors here too are muted and understated and the dress has a flimsy, transluscent feel which gives it that ultra feminine and flirty, dreamlike quality! Charlize’s little-off-white-dress also has ribbon detailing but thats where all similarities end. Ms. Theron’s dress was at a whole other level and absolutely stunned!

You know, who worked the ‘Chic’, don’t you?

Got Time?

Look what caught my eye, the Book Clock in Black by Sjoerd van Heumen! How wonderful is it? Place it between shelves of books, or even some place where it is just flanked by books on either side, and perk up your library or shelf space in a second! The clock is also available in multicolor, but I prefer the muted Black, far classier for a library don’t you think? And at $28, its certainly affordable.

And here is something else that I loved, The Gear Clock. How funky is that? Its so modern, and, priced at $78, can instantly perk up a boring bedside table or a lackluster shelf space!
