I have such a girl crush on her!!

Those shoes…i agree…could’ve been something different..but then she would be perfect! And nobody is allowed t be perfect!

    PS: I love that top!

    i loved this look,

this is 80s inspired look done so well that it doesnt look OTT. if only the shoes were not so pointy i would have had liked it more.

she can carry anything so well. make up, attitude perfect!

I think the shoes look great! anything black, or classic pumps would have been too predicatable and boring…

      true…love the look

      1. kaya at | | Reply

Too many items that make a satemnet in one outfit overbear it. The hair and trousers already do because they’re done well.

The shoes are patterned and pointy. They were unnecessary. And don’t go with the trousers or overall look..

As far as anything black or classic pumps being predictable… 90% of the time girls pair them wrongly and undervalue them… they’re rarely paired right with ensembles and when they are they take them to another plane.

Don’t underestimate classics but do resent those who don’t understand them ;)

        1. gaga at | | Reply

          no one is underestimating classics.
according to me the shoes work. nothing wrong with pointed shoes done well.
i don’t think there are any hard and fast rule in fashion. people often get caught up in rut of whats in/out.

          1. Tina at |

agreed gaga, i think in this era-most stringent fashion rules are out, if you can make it work and make it yours- its your fashion statement. i am pretty sure coco would’ve thought rihanna’s fashion sense is outrageious- but in todays’ date she is considerent one of the most fierce fashion forward celeb.

            not underestimating classics at all!
sonam rocks this look- a little understated, but trendy and young, her own little twist to a classic look- pointy shoes and all in her own personal way!

Face is so Hepburn-esque, esp in the last photo. Love it. Don’t care much for the outfit, but she pulls it off.

  12. Stuti at | | Reply

Meh. I LOVE the necklace, and the bad, and her face, but that is it. I don’t like the rest of the outfit, the shirt, the pants(oh god the pants), the shoes, all scream “Meh”.

I like everything about this look. Very nicely put together. She has a great fashion sense. Chic, casual, classy – not sure. But she looks so comfy.

  14. kish at | | Reply

she looks better in the dark than in the light. lol i sound dodgy.
but seriously, love the top and the bag is yummy!
you’re right, the shoes are kind of a let down, but hey, the rest of the look (including her pretty face) diverts attention from them.

  15. diptiN at | | Reply

great edgy look, Loooove the shoes, she looks great.

    1. mary at | | Reply

actually I love the shoes too. Black pumps would have been so deepika/Priyanka and totally yawn.

      1. DressyDresser at | | Reply

I too love the shoes…They make the outfit edgy. Pumps would have made it boring.

  16. gaga at | | Reply

like i’ve said many times…pulled back hair looks classic and not many indian women do it. i think for them open hair=pretty.
love the look. she sure likes to experiment and she pulls it off every time. very fashion forward.

    1. kaya at | | Reply

I wouldn’t say she’s fashion forward at all.. She’s fashion enthusiastic..

      1. gaga at | | Reply

definitely fashion forward according to indian standards. remember you can’t compare her with actresses abroad. there’s no match.
none of the bollywood bunch would dare wear this and make it work.

        1. Ann at | | Reply

I would go on to say that she is better dressed that 70 odd% of the Hollywood actresses as well..and I do not mean designer!!! she uses regular pieces (from F21) and can make them work!!! she has a wonderful dressing sense…think she is both a fashion enthusiast and fashion forward!!!

          1. ami at |

            i agree with ann

I hate 80s inspired looks and this one is bad too. The 80s did not have good fashion. Plus those shoes are all wrong. I like her hair.

  18. KS at | | Reply

P&P you would change shoes to what? Genuinely asking.

  19. Flower Power at | | Reply

gorgeous! this girl enjoys her clothes, engages with them, and that makes all the difference.

I dont like the pants…but its a personal choice here….would have paired that awesome top with long loose parallel pants with a straight fit..and of course different shoes….the look looks incomplete to me….

    1. charan at | | Reply

The crop pants are in fashion now…

      1. Swapna at | | Reply

i liked those open ceremony pants ….. looks so trendy …she has a different fashion sense …..and she knows to work it too.

        1. Swapna at | | Reply

Sry Opening Ceremony Pants :D :P

      2. SS at | | Reply

Im sure they might be…but I dont like everything thats in fashion..like I said..personal choice here…Just like I dont like cropped black tights with skirts or long t shirts…I dont like this look….:)

All is good but the visible bra outline.

    1. P at | | Reply

Don’t you think that’s taking it a little too far? I mean…is she supposed to wear a tank inside to cover it up, so there’s not even an illusion of her wearing a bra?

IMO there’s too much noise made among us about someone’s bra strap showing or an outline showing. Women have boobs and they wear bras. That’s nothing to be ashamed about.

  22. PV at | | Reply

Like the look- a casual look though.I actually like her shoes- though not with what she is wearing.

  23. Ashi at | | Reply

I LOVE the shoes! But I just love everything sparkly in general, lol.

she looks great from top to toe; coz not many people can pull off this look. Sonam has a classic face and she always looks fabulous and of course has THE style; like they say, fashion dies but style never dies! way to go girl!

agree. i can totally see one of those models on F21 website sporting the same look .only a jacket of some sort is missing.

      1. SS at | | Reply

Not just F21 but this type of look is everywhere to be seen. Sonam is bang on trend with the harem style pants!

Hate the pants but love her minimal makeup. Such a gorgeous face!

Stunning. And spot on, definitely minus the shoes!

Also perfectly noted that the look is not forcefully channelling classic. Great comment.

Great look….so trendy and chic! She’s such a kid….looks like she just bought those shoes and they are great! she badly just wanted to wear them…and Bam! she wore it with that outfit…! Its true that it does not go well with the rest of her outfit…but HEY! In itself its a great pair o’ shoes…

hello. am i losing it or did that bag just turn into another bag?

    1. diptiN at | | Reply

it is the same bag, she has just put the shoulder chain inside the bag and is wearing it as a clutch. When it comes to fashion, I would compare her with the best of hollywood, but must say she spend a bomb on her clothes and it does not appear that she gets them for free. I saw her mom at Saks Fifth Ave in Beverly hills before thanksgiving and she bought a few G.Zanotti shoes , size 9 1/2. The shoes she is wearing are selling for $610

  33. pdaervo at | | Reply

LOVE her look ankle up…the makeup and hair ARE FAB! (although the not-straightness of the shirt is bothering me)
I too hate the shoes, I’m just not into the manolo-type of pointy shoe
I’m a Loub girl (you know, aside from the whole no-leather thing) ;)

  34. ekta at | | Reply

the whole outifit is amazing from head to toe!
the shoes are classic mary jane pumps with a twist…its is chic, classic, sexy, and effortlessly sophisticated!!!

  35. preetidutta at | | Reply

I think her look is perfect…the shoes rock! I don’t like pointy shoes myself, but here they make her outfit edgy and dressy. Sonam, you are the best-dressed Indian, hands-down!

  40. Sona at | | Reply

Wow! Sonam strikes again and beats all her counterparts hands down on the style front!

  41. rohini at | | Reply

Payal, Priyanka, what shoes would you recommend ? Black gladiator type sandals or ankle boots ?

  42. HHC Fan at | | Reply

Sonam does a LOT of black and white…I would say she mostly wears B&W. But she does them so well that you never notice. And she also changes it up…with occasional pinks, oranges, beige/golds, blues. But those are rare. B&W is her thing. I don’t like these cropped pants but she does them well.

  43. Antonia at | | Reply

I LOVE the necklace, bag & top. I don’t love the pants & shoes but she manages to make them look good.
