In Shehlaa
At the soirée held for Rahul Mishra, Sonam was photographed in a Shehlaa sari. Wearing her hair up, she finished out the look with small drop earrings, pair of bangles and a gold minaudière. It was her embellished bib blouse however that stole the spotlight!
You may recall seeing her in similar floral Shehlaa by Shehla Khan sari here.

The saree is nothing exciting but the blouse is certainly interesting. And Sonam looks really lovely as well.
WHOA! That’s one risqué blouse.
I’m not a big fan of Shelaa designs. The sari is just okay, the blouse would look tacky on a lot of ppl but Sonam manages to pull it off better.
Shehlaa*
I love the Sari…and that blouse is very interesting. Hmm, I am curious to see what kind of comments Sonam gets for this one. She looks very pretty as usual.
Love it!! She nails the saree look most times. That’s a lovely summery saree & the blouse is amazing.
And why does she keep dressing like Rajmata all the time. And that is one stupid blouse.
I can’t imagine the Rajmata with that blouse.
So over her now. Always seems the same old same old. She needs to change something. I feel as if she’s reached her style stagnation.
The saree is so blah I don’t think it deserves a second glance. The things that get sold in the name of designer wear…
The blouse is definitely eye-catching but not quite in a good way. The bib looks kinda sloppy. Bad finishing maybe?
Agree to both the observations, saree and blouse
I love this look! With a different blouse the saree could be worn by anyone. The blouse is very eye catching and dramatic.
Sari has a retro feel. Matched with a daring blouse so that it is not dated. I think she is pulling it off.
She looks good from the front! But i don’t like the back!
Trust Sonam to keep it interesting. I think she looks lovely and the blouse, indeed the bib detail, does merit a closer look. But the back of the blouse has me stumped. The fastening has, I don’t know, an unfinished look to it IMHO
Ewwww…… at the blouse!
Have to agree with most here on the saree, its quite blah.. Anything seems to pass off as designer nowadays..
The blouse well.. I liked it from front, but the back somehow is not my cup of tea, esp. with the pink.. but then I dont have such a back so I am just jealous maybe.. 😛
But I do think she looks nice, her draping is definitely better than most..
She looks nice from the front angle. The blouse actually looks tacky and she does not have the body type to work such kind of a back open bib blouse. Looks trashy.
Completely agree. I think the sari is suitable for women like Sharmila Tagore.
I do think the blouse is interesting but I also think it is unflattering on Sonam’s body type. It makes her back look rather broad.
I’m trying to figure out the mechanics of that blouse…how is the top part being held up so snug against her back?
I love it and want it
Hasn’t she worn a sari like this before…Hate this look…why would you wear this and that blouse is outright tacky…I dont know who do I dislike more…Shelaa Khan or Gaurav Gupta…This is a not quite for me…I think sonam’s days as a fashionista are over…
My maid wears these sarees mass produced by Garden Vareli in the 1990s.
This kind of saree is timeless & very romantic. Your maid has a very good taste!
True That!. These kind of floral print soft silk chiffon sarees are classy and timeless. Cant compare them to the Garden Varelli ones.
Had a certain Ms Sherawat worn this everyone would think it is tacky. That is a tacky blingy blouse disguised as designer . it’s ugly, period.
A rare miss from Sonam. The back of the blouse is too revealing and as many have noted, tacky.
How does her bolus manage to stay on with just one hook? I am stumped.
Err I mean *blouse.
Laughed so hard at bolus!
She looks very pretty here. Saris suit her.
gorgeous style and cut for the blouse…the sari is sweet but it also looks like something a 70 plus Parsi aunty would have as curtains in her house sans the ’embellishment’ on the border
Hate the saree, love the blouse. At the same time, I am glad that she went with soft floral saree because with the style and the cut of the blouse, the whole outfit looks very dramatic.
