High Heel Confidential

In Louis Vuitton

We delayed posting Ms. Sinha’s from Paris Fashion Week in the hope of coming across a better quality picture but, since we can’t seem to get our hands on one, here she is! :)

In Paris to take in the Louis Vuitton SS 2012 showing, Sonakshi sat pretty in her front row seat dressed head-to-toe in Louis Vuitton. A bouffant and red lips completed her look.

The severe dark look might not go down well with some of you but we love that she kept it interesting and didn’t go the predictable route.

P.S: Will update the post with better pics when we get ‘em.

ok so here’s someone who is appropriate for a desi look- a nice anarkali or a sari.. formal westerns, even LV, don’t quite make magic with her..

    • Ec says:

What rubbish! Western clothes do not require a certain face or a certain figure.

      • Pinky says:

no but this outfit certainly did. the hair doesn’t luk rite on her either. this could have worked but on some1 else. dont get me wrong shes beautiful and classy but this luk was just not 4 her. I do think she luks better in Indian clothes and some western clothes but just not this.

      • belle says:

Actually…I also believe that sometimes Indian chicks (I won’t comment on other nationalities) cannot pull off western wear…I see it all the time when I go to India…some just can’t.
Same goes for some ‘white’ people who cannot pull off Indian wear.

Sonakshi usually looks fine in western wear…but there is something off about this dress on her…can’t quite put my finger on it

I really want to like her in this outfit…but I am unable to

  2. Food Poisoned Attorney says:

The hair and make-up is spot on. But unfortunately I think she is looking too big waist up, close up is in even more in yr face…not liking the look.

  3. Honey says:

Yeeeesh. I can see her innerwear. And I can’t see her neck! High fashion isn’t supposed to work this way!

  4. bongbabe says:

now this is how curvy ladies should dress.

  5. crack says:

It makes her look so stuffy and top-heavy….she looks weird

  6. Nandini says:

While I like the outfit and love her makeup, I’m a little disturbed by the innerwear show. I wish that her stylist had given her a full camisole under the lace top, especially considering she’s at an international event. It’s not D&G-let’s-all-hang-out-loose.

    • Lola says:

Speaking of inner wear showing, how is her “inner wear” any different from the bra type tops that are worn with sari?
a camisole willhave affected the look negatively. This vintage look is quite appropriate.

  7. slc says:

The desi in me has a slight problem with the bra show under the fabulous lace blouse (love the blouse) ….but I must agree she is looking very chic

  8. zeeniebb says:

I like the severe dark look she has going here but something about the top feels a little off for me. Maybe it is the angle of the photographs or not enough support from her undergarments, but waist up she looks bigger than she is.

  9. shruti says:

That peeking bra makes this look iffy for me.

  10. shivani says:

black with red lips isn’t predictable?

  11. Lola says:

I very much appreciate her look; she looks like Dorothy Dandridge (actress from the Hollywood 50 movies.) Her overall presentation is elegant, retro and classy.

  12. POP says:

i like how sleek and polished she looks, but the style just isn’t flattering for her body type!

  13. Anu C says:

I like Sonakshi but this look is not her. I dont like hair or the lips.

As pretty as she is and she carries her clothes well too, but I just dont see her as a high fashion, front row fashionista.

  14. kasthuri says:

Nice outfit..wish the hair and make up were less starkly contrasting..But overall a very nice look.

  15. Areddy says:

Sonakshi gives hope to all those women with curves that you can still look and feel fabulous wearing anything!

  16. Kat Hakim says:

If Grace Kelly had desi bloody, this is what she’d look like.

    Perfection.

  17. Rock~n~Rose says:

A black see through top with her innerwear on show.. a monogrammed LV.. and this is not a WTHEY?

  18. annie says:

how gorgeous is she!! the makeup is perfect. on that note, i would love to know what foundation brands do you guys use. i’ve basically given up of ever finding a good match :(

  19. Rash says:

I think she looked awesome in this ! She is a curvy women, and so the dress fits this way. The make up is spot on and the shoes too ! She is dressed to T for a front row in an international fashion show.

  20. AM says:

Didn’t think Sonakshi could do “western” but girl is channelling the 50s pretty nicely.

  21. diptiN says:

I have no problem with the bra showing, it is just that she does not have the body to carry the top. The skirt looks OK. Need to have a long slim torso and long neck to look good in this top. I hate the Bag she is carrying, should have gone with a clutch. The hair and make up are nice… different.

  22. shwetha says:

    She looks like a clown.

Anyone else (aside from a Sonam Kapoor, Diya Mirza, Sophie Chowdury) and you would have listed this as WTHEYYYY

    terrible.

  23. bozo says:

    No. Not good.

And not because I have any issues with the bra – I don’t.
    Not because I don’t like all-black – I do.

    But just no.

  24. Sui says:

She looks great! absolutely classy and elegant!

  25. angl says:

i am guessing that her idea of being high fashion= showing innerwear……while this may work sometimes for a more edgier look, sonakshi’s look fails

  26. arpitha says:

Too white foundation & combined with the red lips & hair her face looks like a mask.
Dont like the way the undergrament is showing, making it look cheap.
She is not a person for this style may be someone like kangana, she looks good in simple attires & makeup. She should try to follow Dia’s style as it will suit her.

    • sinlesschocolate says:

Why should she follow someone else’s style? Shes’ got a style of her own and it’s quite chic. She’s setting quite a trend for curvy girls out there.

Her makeup and outfit looks so elegant here. Her face echoes the 1950′s starlet glamor. Too bad I can see her bra though. But otherwise, she’s smoking hot here.

      • arpitha says:

Dia was just an example of simple dressing and i cant remember anyone else who dresses as simple & feminine as Dia. And moreover sonakshi also generally dresses simple & feminine (which suits her) but sometimes misses on makeup/hairstyle or accessories.

What’s wrong in learning/following a style and developing on it, that too in fashion were it is always done. Even the current look of her’s is inspired from some previous look (which u only said so).

  27. Girlie says:

    Her makeup looks ashy :S

  28. lotus says:

I think she looks great. Like old Hollywood goddesses Kim Novak and Ava Gardner. Her full figure looks best with in sophisticated womanly style. I applaud her for stepping out of her comfort zone. Love the hair….. Reminds me of China’s Fan Bing Bing who does retro a lot and is very daring with her hairstyles.

  29. Shell says:

Love the red lip… I’ve despaired of finding the perfect red, but this one is it. Can anyone recommend a shade to suit Indian skin? Sonakshi looks lovely, but the bag is a horror.

  30. Trinka says:

Hate this look. She looks top heavy & trying too hard. At least Sonam has a good stylist who seems to be more in touch with trends ( even if she pulls her looks together based on what the younger Hollywood stars wear)

  31. mahak says:

she just looks ssooooo bad in dis…the hair are a big turn off for me…i am just nt able to look beyond dem…
