In Manish Malhotra

Comment image 21

Natasha attended the British Asian Trust Dinner on Thursday evening wearing a lilac Manish Malhotra sequin gown. Wearing her hair in an updo, she added more sparkles to the look by way of a stone headband.

Given all that shimmer, I wish she’d picked a different clutch to offset the look with instead of the sequin Valentino bag. A more subtle minaudiere would’ve worked better here.

What did you think of her look?

  1. For someone who’s only claim to fame and access to all these red carpet events is that she married into an incredibly rich family (some may call that a huge achievement) she is almost always overdressed and over styled. Now if she were nominated for an award or be part of the event, I can understand the attempts to look like the star of the show, but unless she achieves anything to deserve that sort of attention, she’s going to remain a display mannequin for excess.

      • This is a fashion blog and not the Padma Sri Awards. Let us not put people down for their perceived achievements. That is a slippery slope and potentially dangerous in the current political climates, no?

    • She’s far too tacky. Everyone knows she buys her spot in best dressed lists.
Indian designers should stick to indian wear.
      She thinks she’s royalty.

    • So much contempt for someone we don’t even know. Why so hung up on that she wasn’t born a billionaire? Who cares that one was richer than the other? She’s built her own social circle, respected by the top brands in the country. It’s just a dress, and just another party. Who cares she’s over or under dressed? Let people have fun, and comment on whether the dress suits them or not. Questioning her right to look stunning in her own terms because she wasn’t born rich comes across very malicious. She seems happily married and managing the family’s brand well with her fashionista image. Let’s not pull other women down cuz we in a bad mood mmmk? X

    • There’s a lot of rich people out there who have no sense of style. At least Natasha has that – a sense of style. She’s not just a label pile on.

And it’s an art to be able to look good in what you wear. Nothing wrong with having some fun in life and looking good while doing it!

  2. Who else gets a complete Gossip Girl vibe from this look cos it is too reminiscent of Blair’s reel-life looks and Serena’s real-life Cannes 2016 look!? Natasha, I Love you but here it looks like you are trying too hard to establish your position as ‘royalty’ !

  3. Been lurking around this blog for years now without commenting but I HAD to speak up… all these catty comments about Natasha being overdressed, blingy etc., might be a tad bit out of place in this context. I saw on Manish Malhotra’s Insta that this was for an event with the royal family in attendance. There’s a pic of Natasha and Manish with Prince Charles. So what if she wanted to channel her inner princess? Let’s give some credit where it’s due. Who would not want to look and dress like that given half a chance? Most attendees were in similar ball gowns. She chose an Indian designer for an international event when she could have gone the Chanel-Versace route – major props for that.

    • +100000 .. Couldn’t have said it better myself. Most other people featured on these pages would have dressed it up too, but chosen an international designer. And hey, who are we to question what she’s done and achieved. There are ample enough ‘rich wives’ around. She must be doing something right to get to be there!
