Except for the sari on the left I am not feeling any of it. Neither of the blouses or the sari on the right.

“Okay, so the way the sari has been worn at the People Mag party is real messy… But, how pretty does she look? ”

i think its time for me to accept that my personal tastes are way different to yours, PnP :)

i dont understand why filmstars find a pallu so tough to handle. most of us regular people manage to cover our chests just fine. i do like her sarees though..

    1. DC at | | Reply

Thats funny :D I agree abt the pallu- makes me cringe everytime I see a boob hanging out.

      1. annie at | | Reply

Boob hanging out? Not every culture in india covers the full chest when wearing a sari.

        1. Saya at | | Reply

Agreed@Annie. Regional culture varies among the different states in India and one would think people would realize that. Like how the village women of Kerala don’t have the concept of covering their blouse/chest.

I dont see anything cheap or booby in these pictures. Is there something wrong with me???

        3. the mad momma at | | Reply

perhaps not – but when worn in this style, they do!

          1. kasthuri at |

Yes, the kerela style sari is tied totally different.
So you cant compare it with this. And when worn in this style, you got to cover the vitals.

I don’t know. I think it looks quite messy. Sorry just read your comment about and it says the same thing lol. Not liking it.

She could have atleast ironed he sari….shes one hot mess!!!

    1. padma at | | Reply

those were exactly my thoughts when i saw the pic on the right, doesnt she own an iron? or maybe have someone iron it?

the saree on the right is ok, whats with the pallu there, its so messy. And really why dont these woman understand that wearing the pallu right is one part of wearing a saree, if you can keep it where it should be, dont bother wearing a saree.

      1. padma at | | Reply

the saree on the left* is ok, i meant

      2. padma at | | Reply

and if you cant* keep it where it should be.

@ padma… ever tried wearing a silk saree & then getting in & out of a car????… its bound to crumple

        1. padma at | | Reply

i have darling, and i admit it have some crumplimg, but not this badly please! i mean not from top to bottom, and then again i am not attending People Magazine’s ‘Most Beautiful‘ Party, if i were i might have had some help to fix the few creases before i walk on the carpet.

I aint being mean really, the saree does look sad.

Love both sarees and the 2 distinct looks! this woman is really bringing the shabana/smita/ indian sex cotton saree look back on to the red carpet…even tho the first is a chiffon…reminds me of the kinds rakhee wore… really so refreshing to see a celeb with this look! way to go Mini Mathur! may your wardrobe of sarees grow!

Mini looks stunning in the red/pink saree with the big bindi! Strangely, she looks haggard in the white one, maybe because the color just washes her out!

  12. ash at | | Reply

dont like either of the drapes but love that shes sporting the saree so much, how cool is that? And I love the handloom/brocade blouse combo, with the ethnic jewelery – she looks very pretty.

Mini has a class that translates through even her worst dressing.

She has that open smile too!

I agree, after seeing so many people on this blog who can make gucci/ chanel look tacky, this is a refreshing opposite

I really liker her Chivas Studio Event sari….is that a Satya Paul?

I do love the artsy big bindi avataar but the black and white saree is a little to generic and worn so messily!

  16. kanika at | | Reply

I am so glad that there are celebrities who dont shy of wearing sari’s…

She is looking beautiful with that big bindi…that red sari is looking like it is Tusser silk.

  17. k at | | Reply

i love the red sari. it has a nice arty/boho vibe she looks comfortable but shouldn’t have gone out looking so messy.

  18. pipita at | | Reply

she is a pretty woman.. but how difficult is it to wear the pallu right? looks so shabby.

  19. FARAH at | | Reply

Ok..so the rust orange saree could have been ironed better, but everything else is so gorgeous!
her make up is really nice and lovin the bindi.
she totally stands out!! she’s a very pretty girl

  20. fashionfreak at | | Reply

Guys just give her a break will you??? She will need to keep a steam iron in a car to wear her tusser silk saree completely without creases!!! Why does fashion have to be so hard to wear?? Its human to have a sari pallu fall aside.. better than a band box starched look!! I think mini does her own thing and manages to shine out amongst the synthetic, designer, photoshoot perfect kitsch. There!

Love the tussar, and even the chiffon isn’t bad. Nice to see more saris on this blog…
