I am liking this :) very very wearable and very summery chic collection …

I might be wrong here, but this looks/feels more like it’s bits and pieces of other designers than it does a Manish Malhotra Summer 2014! LFW Collection….

Some pieces look like they have been inspired by sabyasachi.. Especially black ones with white work on them!

exactly my thoughts…not even inspired but almost replica to sabyasachi’s past designs.

The prints are so similar to what Dolce & Gabbana are doing …The one with floral print.

Totally agree, Sonam wore a D&G probably from that collection at Cannes , and not just that row 2 last one broke my heart :( it’s a Valentino rip off that I adore and Diane Kruger have worn. I see some more similarities too.

+1 I got instantly reminded of this:

Sad he’s one of the mainstream designers India got!

True innit? Also sabya, as mentioned by dasika. Much restrained when you compare with the usual MM aesthetics. This collection actually looks very elegant.

Some of the pieces defn look inspired…no wonder the collection is decent…how come none of the guests except kangana wore the new stuff…all the other guests’ gowns/lehengas should be given to raddiwala pronto

I don’t care about the clothes…someone please tell me where I can find the lip color Sonakshi has on! Any tips?

Copied from Sabyasachi …. sad very sad :( no orginality !

Very derivative. In addition to Sabyasachi, I also see Payal Pratap influence in those jackets.

Too much hate for MM on these pages. This collection looks great to me! Sonakshi looks so pretty

So he just copied Sabyasachi and presented it on the runway. How does that make him any different from the neighbourhood darzis.

Like the left-most outfit in the second row, but probably inspired by some other designer. Sonakshi’s side-boob show is a bit tacky…

Is it just me or do the prints seem “inspired” by Dolce and Gabbana?!

i also feel the collection makes you feel its copied from several designers and places…. but still an overall neat and elegant collection

What’s with Bollywood stylists turned designers? First Vikram Phadnis and now MM. Copying is the only way to go for them. So sad!

The collection looks nice. But Manish Malhotra sorely lacks originality. Like the others mentioned, there are clearly elements of Sabyasachi, D & G, Masaba, etc. Such a shame!

Not bad. Quite different from the regular MM pieces. Some pieces do remind me of Sabyasachi designs.

In india I guess designers can just get away and make huge bucks by copying other designers….. MM has no formal training, and has just run out of ideas…. It sucks that the consumer becomes such a sucker….

I agree with most of he comments above. A lot of the designs and embroidery has been copied from Valentino, Sabyasachi, Naeem Khan, Dolce, and Masaba. But this is one of his better collections and will surely be a hit amongst bollywood celebs due to their loyalty.

Is it just me or Sonakhsi’s dress is giving a Nikhil Thampi vibe…

  20. umarana at | | Reply

wow. he totally ripped off my grandma’s floral upholstery how Gone with the Wind of him…

  21. Pri at | | Reply

But that’s how manish “designs”….. He gives his assistant designers all the Latest magazines and tells them to design using that as an inspiration….. :/
