In TrueBrowns

Yami was spotted out and about wearing a printed kurta set from TrueBrowns with green kolhapuri chappals. She sure looked good in it.

P.S. Anyone know whether this prints still look this vibrant after a few cleanings?

    • These days I see labels say “dry clean” for even cottons which is wild to me and I don’t follow that practice. So am asking for both scenarios. Thanks for answering..

    • Interesting I found their clothing not so great! Mostly ultra loose stuff which are not flattering and really high cuts for kurta making them impractical. Polyester mostly and their pictures online are better than actual products.

      • Likewise. Had bought a lot of stuff from there at one go but found the quality to be quite wanting. Very unflattering fits – extra loose kurtas with high slits, bottoms often way too short, and the fabric and colour did look a bit worn after just a couple of washes. Haven’t bought their clothes since then.

        • I feel relieved. I am so tired of these beautifully photo shopped frozen pictures of clothes that look like a sack on real figures. If you are flat, not curvey and ready to just stand around like leaning tower of pisa at different angles then these are great I guess. Pants were super short for me too!!

          • Thank you, after seeing Yami, I was tempted to order some clothes for me from True Browns. Real user perspective is very helpful, thank you.

          • I have one dress and I hand wash it in cold water, looks the same as the day I bought it. I do agree on the loose fitting on practically all their designs. Anti-fit is wild and it’s everywhere. I am curvy and yet the clothes fall as if on a hangar. The prints are very delicious though. Not sure if I will buy more, but I definitely browse their designs. Also, a little curious on the material, because their team also has no idea on what the clothes are actually made of.

  1. I had a pretty bad experience with True Browns with color fade and poor quality fabric, granted it was just for one dress but I have heard similar stories from others too.

  2. Re dry cleaning – actually the research shows that fabrics like silk and wool need not be dry cleaned, in fact, the fibres can be ruined by the chemicals. Hand wash in tepid water and drying flat is the best. Cottons – there is a belief that the colour will get “fast” if dry cleaned – not sure about that.
With vegetable dyes, washing in a machine with detergent can make the colours fade
