Vidya has been promoting her upcoming movie and sporting quite a few Indian designers while at it. Loved her in the Saundh, Aseem Kapoor and Tisha. The Ka-Sha was visually interesting but the proportions were quite off.

  1. Honestly speaking, I always love seeing Vidya’s looks because she and her stylists really work on them. Designer clothes nowadays seem to be tailored for the long-slender-flat body type and it’s always interesting to see how stylists and stars take a considered approach for a body type that doesn’t fit that stereotype. HUGE props to Vidya especially for working on this aspect of her image, given her professed lack of interest in clothes etc.
Because they’re pushing the envelope here, there will be some hits and misses and that’s okay. LOVE the Saundh and Aseem Kapoor looks. You can see the ideas behind the other looks but they’re all slightly off. Nothing awful but perhaps not the best silhouettes for Vidya. The Tisha, esp, is overwhelming her and the A&T is just not her, period.

    • So apt, also also want to add here there’s a dearth of stylists/designers skilled to dress all body types and take interest beyond the kylie/Kendall/Gigi/Bella copy paste job here in name of styling. There’s huge absence of the understanding and play of fabric, prints, styles, fitting, cultural bouquet.. in a country like ours. Maybe few actors know what works for them but with (bad) stylists taking over there’s no space for exploring personal style. Love that Vidya, Huma, Kajol try what they are put into.. and it doesn’t define their personality.

    • I also loved the Kha -sha .What did PnP meant by proportions being off – the top being a little loose and/or the skirt being a little short ?

      • I think Pranay Jaitly and Shounak Amonkar are styling her still. They started off with her lockdown promotion looks and she has been having a good run since then. This is how she should be dressed. As much as I love her in a saree, she has the confidence, body language and smile to pull off almost all silhouettes, provided they are made to fit for her hourglass figure. She deserves to experiment and look good doing it. These stylist duo seems like they know what they are doing.

  2. Love her in all!!!
Saund, Aseem and Kasha were my abs favorites. On Ka Sha i didn’t find anything wrong with proportions and thought the outfit looks swell on her!!

  3. Roughly the same age and body type as Vidya and I find all of these unappealing. Peplum tops like in 2 for eg should not be worn with such a full skirt – this looks like a young girl’s dandiya dress. Some of the prints are way too large in a furnishing kind of way and best left to tall ladies. The Tisha one is the only one I might wear. Otherwise its a weird mix of young women’s and over 60s fashion.
