Just when I thought Ms. Rautela couldn’t do any worse than that teal blue lip and matching gown (a Saiid Kobeisy), she sure proved me wrong!

  1. Iam surprised she didn’t paint her face like a peacock , she can literally fly back to india .. Cannes red carpet has turned into some terrible fashion circus and bad Botox job ( nothing against Botox )exhibition since last couple of years … instead of film festival, people are dressing up as birds ,lampshades , flowers , teacups etc …I have two infucencers from my locality who reveal bags for living going to Cannes film festival … I do not know what to say…. I rest my case and my brain

      • I was talking about everyone ,that included Aishwarya rai , Sonam Kapoor( previously) sara Ali Khan ,Mrinal Takur Diana Penty … If you are gonna categorise it as elite and non elite it’s in your head not mine, for me it is well dressed vs badly dressed .. and I was talking about people not related to cinema going Cannes, when I spoke of influencer .. many of them think Cannes festival is a fashion event more than cinema … according to me Aishwarya rai is worst dressed so chill

        • Not getting into the elitist argument here but P&P sure have changed their strict rules. They have not censored your open reference to Botox. They have censored several comments including mine that only alluded to Botox.

  2. Truth be told, the teal blue lip sighting was quite nice, and several notches better than some others (Ash/ Sara/ ..) fared at Cannes. The outfit, make up and neck piece were all rather nice and she’s pulling off the lipstick quite well! She shouldve skipped the mini pouch/ cell phone or whatever that she’s holding, but otherwise quite a nice look

However, agree with you that the green bird craft project look was a absolute no-no. NO-NO!

  3. Look how happy and confident she is . That’s what’s important!
On a side note – she should be invited to the MET . She will do a good job in being comfortable in some over the top fashion…
I’m still amazed by how confident this young girl is on the carpet- love it … you go girl!!!

      • you’ve gotto be kidding if you think she speaks well. For one, she wore a replica Cartier Maria Felix necklace and is giving interviews left right and centre about it, but has NOT ONCE mentioned Cartier. Isn’t that strange?! No way would it right to have her represent India

  4. Not a fan of either of the outfits or the headgear or lip shade but have to agree, she is carrying that lipcolour well. Urvashi looks happy n confident.

  5. why is the criticism reserved for Urvashi. because she is not a big name ?
There are plenty of celebreties who are dressed in feathers and metal and what not.
google – Didi stone in roberto cavalli,PATRICIA CONTRERAS at 75th Annual Cannes Film Festival Opening Ceremony ,Gisela Schobe,Yseult in Schiaparelli 2022 etc etc
she looks tame comprared to the above
Lets not bash our very own
Lets give it to her for having fun out there and carrying it with confidence

    • I see the opposite of what you see. Many people defending her instead of butchering her. A Sonam and deepika have had much harsher commentary on otherwise well made experimental dresses. Remember the loofah dress of Deepika which was actually a nice dress.

There are multiple issues here. For starters the craftsmanship and quality of dress. It looks crafty and childish. As much as Uravashi confidently rocking it. I wounded if designer would dare to ask a well established star to try these.

  6. Why say something against anyone who seems to be having fun? Let them enjoy if they are comfortable wearing it. I loved it as she is flaunting it like no body else’s business. Second pic is epic.

  7. Victoria Bonya attends the “Jeanne du Barry” screening during the Cannes Film Festival is this same feather gown albeit san head gear.
If I have to pick one then IMO Victoria looked better.

  8. maybe she wore the green so that we’d appreciate the other appearance?

but seriously. can’t help but wonder why the india pavilion or whatever it is that invited these starlets (ok, come at me with the ‘elitist!’ jibe) was unable to attract actors with proven track records. are their (astronomical?) charges the reason why a kareena or a vidya or a rani are never seen here? or even an ash or a sonam, post their loreal duties.

  9. I really liked her lipstick — Where can I buy a similar shade from? Which brand? I think it will look nice on me 😀
That said, matching the lipstick to the feathery gown was really funny and that necklace was totally unnecessary – it’s like a kid getting dressed at home with whatever is available for a school fancy dress competition.

  10. My understanding of cannes was that it is classy and has a standard and people who have e accomplished a high degree of accomplishment (within cinema) qualify to be there.

But this year I see everyone and anyone in cannes? Can I join next year? Just asking. Not that I want to.

    • It’s just a god damn film festival.. I mean even bureaucrats and normal employees from film studios and related people attend it. It’s not specifically a place to exhibit class, fashion, intellect etc etc.
it’s been made into a big grand thing because as Indians we look upto world stages especially when our actors are on it.

    • But even Cannes organisers need a lot of money to organise this which come through sponsorships . And if big brand sponsors want to have their brand ambassadors be part of it , Cannes won’t refuse . It’s a trade off . I think the film festival related activities are reserved for a few who are really the core of it. The rest for sponsorship and publicity for Cannes . Win Win only

  11. Now this one is very entertaining! I chuckled at the last image! Let her have her moment! Like someone said, people go out and about at such events, it’s not about movies or their acting skills (most of them don’t have any and that’s a different discussion). That qawwali-esque headgear makes it funnier but atleast she is enjoying and owning it!!

  12. I like it! Not every red carpet appearance has to be the classic old Hollywood moviestar spiel. This girl looks good, is confident and most importantly, is generating conversation.

  13. She looks good, is intelligent, and seems confident, comfortable and happy. She is owning every bit of both dresses and the lipstick too.

Your criticism is harsh towards those who are not A listers or star kids.

  14. I know that the internet gives us immunity, but she is a real person, who is no doubt reading these comments. Why say something you wouldn’t say to someone’s face??

To me, she looks good. She has ‘regular’ big gowns, but has made an effort to stand out either with the head piece or the lipstick. She has the attitude, and Cannes is of course ‘go big or go home’.

    You go Urvashi!

  15. I think she looks good in the peacock dress, teal lipstick included. It is the water jug pose that makes it look a bit like a porclain china doll.

The feathery look reminds me of a parrot, but not in a good way. But she looks like she is having a ball at the red carpet.

Kudos to her condfidence and her attitude.
