Two events and Urmila was seen in two very different looks at them. While she looked nice in both, liked her in the sari just a wee bit more, even though her makeup did feel heavy handed in it.

She looks better in the saree look. The makeup and gown in the first look is so bad!
the make-up in both looks is fairly OTT. ageing is hard for these one-time goddesses, indian society doesn’t take kindly to older women and all these ladies have as reference is their 20s glory days

the makeup is horrendous.
So loud and gaudy both looks. Why should her style statement be stuck in the 90s. The world has moved on and there is so much more graceful and classy fashion to pick from now. Dont know why the Urmilas, Madhuris, Shilpa and other TV centric stars keep going back to the garish old days.
At some level I feel Raveena experiments more and comes off better suited pun intended – but thats perhaps because of not being on TV as much.
TVs influence on styling is major head scratch, every sighting is a ghar ki shaadi memo. Why so blingy, why so loud, gawdy and shiny. I dont think the Audience even like it. Not just women but men too. Some sartorial change would be such a relief. How well put was a Renuka Shahane in Surabhi or Circus, and Sonu Nigam on SaReGaMa in the 80s. At some level I think Hum Aapke.. started it all and then went down hill.
She looks nice in both and elegant in saree ! Make up and dressing is still better than madhuri .
