Wearing a white sari featuring zardozi embroidery work, Tara attended a wedding party on Thursday evening. Gajra in her hair, jhumkis, bangles on each and a gold embroidered bag finished out her look.
I would’ve liked her to skip the necklace here. The overload of jewellery especially the bangles on both hands made the outfit a bit dated. It was less Chandni and more 90s era Bolly heroines that wore everything blingy at once. Having said that, Tara has a way of presenting herself where things don’t look tacky on her. Overall, she somehow looked nice.

Why are bangles on both hands tacky :/

what is so tacky with bangles in both hands…in fact that is how traditional should be done!
She is going all out…chudis, bindi, necklace, earrings…way to dress-up sari and not to be ashamed of your traditional dress.

I really don’t understand, what’s up with people these days, wear a sari but cover only half a boob, skip the bindi (hot favorite), empty hands and neck, just huge earrings, maybe a mang tikka oh and speak ONLY ENGLISH as if speaking in Hindi or your mother tongue will negatively impact you social standing.

I have seen firang wives in india being better at traditional getups.
This whole ‘minimalism’, ‘clean’ look is just plain vanilla. And nope, its not out of choice or would wear what i want…
The moment bollywood jumps back on the trends, everyone will follow suit and romanticize everything.
Thats exactly what I mean, why are they being called tacky. If I had the option I would wear the stacks on both hands every day!

oh come on, am no fan of Tara but this is the traditional way of wearing jewelry. it looks balanced to me, not an overload. yes, not too many people go the whole hog nowadays but because the pieces are not overlarge or ostentatious, this doesn’t look bad OR dated.

I’m all for dated – ’90s or ’80s – if “trendy” means weird saris worn with weirder blouses. She looks gorgeous, really.

The makeup is too light here…that’s the problem.
Our brains are fried. We have become so used to seeing strappy blouses, bralettes and bikini tops, that this looks dated innit?
If this were 90s and 2000s,this would have been a front page photo. Coz this is elegant.
Not that bra blouses werent worn at that time, but we all knew A-list actresses never wore them for public events.
Even today, you would find majority of non commercial actresses not routing towards skin show.

Tara looks lovely for a change. The jewelry is fine. Less severe hair might have looked even better but she looks great overall.
