Vidya was seen in two Anavila saris this week and while we’d like to say we loved her in both looks, we didn’t. We had no complaints about the grey and black combo, she looked rather sweet in it.

The cream sari look though was quite a mess. Even if we were to ignore the eye-makeup issues, neither did we like that blouse nor the awkwardly placed jhola on the arm.

In Gaurang

Wearing a Gaurang sari, Vidya attended the designer, Gaurang Shah’s exhibition in Mumbai. With her hair pulled back in a low knot, she finished out the look with flowers in her hair, stack of bangles on one hand and a pair of gold jhumkis. Lovely as she looked neck up, can’t say I was a fan of the sari itself.

At a party hosted by Ritu Beri celebrating the Make In India week, Vidya was seen in a green Manish Malhotra sari which am guessing is from his new Regal Threads collection. Between the one-too-many patches and that sequin-ish border, can’t say we were fans of the sari itself, but Vidya somehow looked rather sweet in it. I think I liked it because it was the first time am seeing her do a pink lip.

Sari Style

At a conference on Thursday in Mumbai, Vidya was spotted sporting her signature look in an Anavila sari. What could’ve been a really pretty look was ruined by that hair over the ears ponytail and that huge necklace that could give Flavor Flav some serious envy!

Now, I know many of you have given up on Ms. Balan and think we should just stop featuring her. But, we quite haven’t. We don’t expect her to give fashion forward looks but at least not look this bad in a sari. I know for a fact that you can wear a sari everyday and look good. (Heck, we have our mothers who’ve shown it to us!)

Here’s hoping she is reading. 🙂
