A day after doing a busy look in white, Sonam opted for a much simpler and fuss-free look at the Hello! Hall Of Fame Awards wearing a Naeem Khan creation from the designer’s Spring 2016 collection.

Adding a bit of a sexy siren vibe to the chiffon gown, she finished out the look with a bold red lip and diamond earrings. In theory, I should like this look, but am not quite sold on it. Between the sheer midriff and the cape, the gown had a very already-seen-it before vibe about it. There was nothing really uniquely Naeem about this gown. And maybe that’s why am a bit disappointed or rather, underwhelmed.

What did you think of this red on red look? We can all agree that it was a huge improvement over the night before, right?

In Elie Saab Couture

At the charity gala, Sonam was seen in a Elie Saab Couture gown from the Spring 2016 collection. This particular collection had quite a few looks that featured the draped sari pallu element. As you can see her gown had that shirt meets a lehenga feel to it.

Now, we know Sonam loves her Elie Saab and I can see why she picked this particular piece from the collection. She probably thought this would be a great way to wear something Couture and still add that desi touch.

Except, we really think A) she should’ve gone with an Indian designer (where is an Anamika Khanna when you want one!) or B) just picked something different from the collection. This gown really didn’t seem to translate that well off the runway. Not only did it feel uber costumey, it made a really tall girl like Sonam look like she was 4 feet tall. She didn’t look statuesque at all.

As you can tell, we weren’t fans. 😛

In Delpozo

A fashion related event and you are guaranteed Ms. Kapoor to go all out. Oh wait, but doesn’t she all the time?

At the Grazia Fashion Young Awards, the actor was seen in a Delpozo look from the Spring 2016 collection. The shirt with its exaggerated frills and the brocade skirt sure was stunning. On the runway. Unfortunately, on her the frills didn’t quite seem to hold their structure and the blouse lost a lot of its impact. In fact, the limp frills looked even more awkward if you looked at her more closely.

She did do great with the finishing touches though. Loved those Aquazzura sandals. Bummer, about the shirt.

In Chola By Sohaya

At an art show, Sonam sported separates from Chola with silver jewellery from Amrapali, a Ferragamo bag and Tod’s sandals.

In case you didn’t know, Chola was started by Sohaya who is the woman behind many of Neha Dhupia’s looks.

Coming back to Ms. Kapoor, she looked great in the separates even though I was on the fence about the sandals. I would’ve preferred gladiator style flats.

In Bodice

Sonam was felicitated with an award today at the I Am Woman seminar where she was seen in a fresh off the AIFW runway Bodice dress paired with minimalist ankle-strap sandals.

I may not be a fan of that triangle pattern on the ponytail but overall she looked nice. Points for keeping it low-key. Sorta.
