Daddy dearest (and never-aging) Anil shares the cover of Hello! Nov edition with daughters Sonam and Rhea, all dressed to their festive nines in Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. Having seen Sonam do a lot of desi looks off late, we are able to take her in this avatar but Rhea, not really.

If you’ve followed Rhea in real life, you know her personal style is nowhere close to this. 🙂 In a way, it did make for quite an interesting change.

Sonam sported a few more desi looks this week for promotions of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo with two looks being very ornate and two relatively simple.

Of them all, got a favorite? We loved all the outfits but in the Anuradha Vakil, the way the dupatta was draped, the look felt too costumey. Maybe we are missing the full picture because it looked all she was missing there was a pair of dandiya sticks.

In Balmain

Rhea Kapoor attended a recent store launch in Mumbai wearing Balmain. Big hair and what might be Jean-Michel Cazabat wedges finished out the stylist-filmmaker’s look. She looked good.

Though the hair might be a deal-breaker for some of you, I love the volume. That to me gives the look its Nineties vibe, which Balmain lately evokes anyway. Payal however would’ve preferred a sleeker do to let the strong jacket be the focus and make the look more contemporary. More importantly though, both of us would like that jacket in our closets pronto!

Sonam sported two Rahul Mishra couture looks and while we’d like to say we loved both looks, it wasn’t quite the case. We only loved one.

Her first look was a long kurta sari look for her visit to the sets of Comedy Nights. Letting the outfit take center stage she kept her hair relatively simple and finished out the look with Anmol Jewellery. This look, we quite loved.

At the launch of a store in Mumbai, she donned another sari look by the designer but this one featured a cape. While the look looked crisp on the runway, on her it looked a bit messy. It would’ve served her better to ditch the cape in this case. An updo also would’ve made the look feel more regal.

Which of the two looks do you like more? Or is it both?
