Helping launch an education-technology company that offers “online and offline counseling for overseas education”, all per the press-release, was Rakul… wearing this Anamika Khanna outfit.

Look, she makes the fussy separates work; she looked nice. But, we don’t quite understand the choice of outfit for the occasion. Stars are brought in both to lend exposure and add that all important celebrity-endorsement quotient, that part we get. But is there no way one can balance the glamour with some gravitas?

For her appearance at a recent launch, Rakul was photographed in a pleated white shirt by Starch, one that she teamed with pair of Urvashi Joneja shorts. With her hair pulled back in to a ponytail, she rounded out the look with Outhouse earrings and Prada sandals. She looked good!

Recent round of movie promotions had Rakul teaming her Nikasha crop-top with a pair of denims and sneakers. With her hair in a half-bun, she rounded out the look with a pair of hoops (earrings). It might not be much of a look to write home about (seems more off-duty than on) but Rakul made the casual separates work for her.

It was a Michelle Mason dress for Rakul while at a recent awards event. Wearing her hair slicked back, she rounded out the look with strappy metallic sandals. Given some of the more elaborate evening-wear at the event, the dress feels rather nondescript. Wish she had added an ear-cuff or stronger eye make-up, or even a more fun pair of sandals. As it stands, this wasn’t a bad look by any means; Rakul looked good. It however was bit of a missed opportunity to do something more.

It’s been refreshing to see her stick to accessible non-fussy style for the most part on this promo tour. As far as these appearances go, she made both looks work for her.
