The good run Kajol had been having seemed to have hit a wall tonight because the flared silk Prabal Gurung dress did not work one bit on her. And those chunky sandals made the look worse.

We’ve got to give her an A for effort though for trying something new.

Ajay was the better half in this case.

Designer Prabal Gurung had a trifecta last week. First, Catherine (Kate) was spotted in the designer’s purple and white printed sheath dress followed by Lady Gaga in a Fall 2012 black gown. Closer to home, Priyanka was spotted wearing a flared sleeveless dress by the designer paired with Steve Madden pumps.

When Vogue’s fashion director Anaita mentioned on twitter that she had a surprise for Prabal Gurung at the KJo party, we never would’ve guessed that the surprise was Deepika wearing a gown from his recent Fall 2012 collection.

What’s unfair is that there are just no pics of Deepika except this one that Prabal posted on Twitter. We so badly want a full-length cuz Ms. Padukone looks ah-may-zing! Bet, all the other ladies were supah-envious!

We’ve been having ourselves quite a few Prabal Gurung sightings lately, haven’t we? You won’t hear us complain! An unfair comparison but which look stands out more, one on the pages of a magazine or outside of it? We’d say both ladies do justice to their dresses and look great!

P.S. Who else is reminded of Betty Draper looking at Ms. Padukone?
