Kriti shared a picture on social media a few days ago wearing a Masaba top from the designer’s 2015 collection with a lace skirt. We haven’t featured this before so am wondering is this a recent picture, a picture from a promotion in the past? Anyone know?

Back in February, during the course of movie promotions, we caught two sightings of Raashi’s, one in a blue handkerchief-hem dress and the other, in ivory separates by Masaba. Both times, the actor rounded out her look with understated make-up, discreet jewelry and ankle-strap sandals.

Of the two, much prefer her appearance in Masaba. Not a big fan of the mesh panel on the dress! Wish it was either a proper illusion panel or a regular covered up neckline if the designer/actor didn’t want to go the risqué route with a plunging neckline. As is, we weren’t sold on the dress!

Neena was seen wearing designs by her daughter to promotions recently first in a pink one-shouldered top and blue and green patchwork skirt and then in a pink sari.

First things first, I am loving seeing her experiment with her hairdos. Having said that though, the pink top look which got my attention more would’ve been a straight forward winner if the fit wasn’t so snug. As for the sari, I wish she’d added the contrast print cape that the sari was originally presented with. It helped tone down the bright sari a tad.

At the Jain-Malhotra wedding reception, Athiya was photographed in a lehenga by Masaba. Wearing her hair back, she rounded out the look with jewelry by Amrapali. Ivory and emeralds go perfectly together and this look should’ve worked, as most looks do on Athiya and yet, I am left feeling underwhelmed. For starters, wish she had worn the dupatta differently. Because it is tone-on-tone, and super long, it looks disproportionately fabric heavy and clunky at the bottom. One of those rare misses for Athiya!

Kriti attended the screening of a movie on Thursday evening wearing a dress from Masaba’s latest collection created in collaboration with the UN environment programme. Each of the outfits from the collection also feature detachable bags. It makes the dresses a tad interesting but I am not sold on if it helps in beating single-use plastic consumption. But that’s just my personal take.

As for Kriti, this would’ve been a more effective outing if she’d used the bag that came with the dress. As is though, it was just another dress on a celeb at a movie event. Rather forgettable.

P.S. Just to clarify, I am not sold on the collection because it seems more gimmicky to me than practical. Either you’re expecting one to be in the dress always when they go out shopping which most likely won’t happen. Also, all the detachable bags feel more like a decorative piece than providing function. Feel free to let me know otherwise. That is, if you’ve bought something from the collection and have been able to put the bags to repeated good use.
