It is always such a up and down theme with Deepika. One appearance will be great followed almost always by a not so great one. Case in point, this appearance of her in this strapless outfit. We’d like to point out the lacklustre hair and lips but the greatest downer of this outfit is that bust top. Frills can be fun, but that oddly placed rosette-y applique is soo odd.

Bad. Bad. Bad.

As much as I loved the way this dress was presented on the Fall runway, off of it, it’s been one big dud. Seen first on Deepika on the cover of a magazine, couldn’t help but think the omitted bow-tie killed the charm of the dress just a tad. And now having seen it on Ms. Poonawala, am convinced either the dress needs to be worn as shown or not at all.

Aww. Love that both Jaya and Aishwarya wore their saris the Bengali way (keeping with the theme of the movie)… Love this appearance of Aishwarya’s especially.

The blazers/shorts day look wouldn’t go very well with the designs that Deepika had to sport at the jewellery store event and that’s why she changed, but then we don’t think the dress worked either. Definitely not with those thong-style flip flops. Thankfully, she swapped them for Ferragamo pumps for the night event. Either ways, the day look was sooo much better.
