Natasha attended the ‘Veer’ exhibition race wearing a strapless Oscar De La Renta dress and offset the feminine feel of the dress with the grungy Balmain jewelled sandals. Not only did the dress feel too out of place for the day event, I for one, didn’t like the sandals with the dress. Don’t get me wrong, I love doing part-feminine/part-grunge look but this dress is just too formal.

One look at Meester and we had an instant flashback to Ms. Kapoor.

Both young fashionistas chose abstract print Marios Schwab dresses and paired ’em with some ankle heels. While the dresses themselves are different, conceptually both executed the look pretty similarly. For us, it’s impossible to pick a favorite since we think both ladies pulled off their ‘looks’ impeccably well but maybe you won’t be so hard pressed to pick a side? 😉

We’ve yet to see the tinseltown ladies pick up Balmain but until they do, we’ll keep ourselves happy spotting some on the non-filmi ones. Closer to home, Ms. Poonawala wore the same Balmain jacket seen on Gisele on the Vogue cover and in London, Priyanka Gill hosted a Diwali party wearing a Balmain dress with a heavy kundan choker. Am all about mixing it up but the heavy-duty traditional necklace didn’t quite work with the edgy dress.

P.S. Still have my fingers crossed and hoping to spot one (some day) on the ‘filmy’ crowd (and not in a magazine spread). Will it ever happen? 😛

Update: Ms. Kapoor was also wearing Balmain‘s studded sandals with the dress. Thanks ‘fashionista’ for the image tip-off.

On anyone else the dress would’ve looked like any other printed dress but on Sonam Kapoor the Marios Schwab 3D Crystal Print dress really shines. Love how she paired her dress with a pair of hoops and a Balenciaga bag.

Keeps it interesting, this one.
