Promotions for Taali saw Ms. Sen in a floral tiered maxi that even on the tall Ms. Sen was two-inches too long. Between the hairdo and the length, the look just felt really dated. Hair in a top knot or any other way may have made for slight improvement.

why is it that with senior actresses like Sushmit and others, you use the word ‘dated’ ?
doesn’t seem that way at all.
The dress maybe a couple of inches longer but thats it.
Any other young actress in the exact same outfit and hair wouldnt be called that.
I think by now Payal, you need to understand something.
This one is going to be a long one.
After certain age, when an actor has achieved great accolades, most of them wont give a slightest damn about what they put on their back. It all just simply becomes ‘just another public appearance’, coz their work, their presence, their personality and aura speaks for them.
Whether its Hollywood or bollywood, it is the same.
Look at Ash, aamir, sanju, rajni sahaab, salman.
When we speak of hollywood, look at tom hardy, cillian murphy, brad pitt, morgan freeman, ricky Gervais.
Not that its the case with all of them, but this how a good amount of successful folks turn out to be. Presentable, yet easy.
So for people like me who have grown seeing them in their peaks of their careers, just seeing them on screen is more than enough.
It really doesnt matter to us, or even bother us to the slightest what they wear for their public appearances.
And im particularly saying this because, a lot of people have been unkind to both Ash and Sush about what they wear for their public appearances.
I apologise if this upset anyone.

Not sure I agree. They are in the glamour industry. It’s great that they have prolonged the working life of women but the game is more sophisticated with stylists and mega brand endorsements. Can’t slack!
She looks fabulous. The floral Patterns go so well with the flow of the dress.
I don’t understand why a floral maxi is “dated”? It’s a little long but that’s happened to all of us. Sushmita looks great and it’s always nice to see her. More importantly, heard her new show Taali has an award winning performance. As usual Ms Sen is hitting it out of the park in more important areas of her life ?
I love Sush but don’t love the maxi. Not all floral maxis have to be dated but the print, the strings hanging near the neck, the tiered skirt, make it look dated to me.
