In Masaba
Sonam visited the Andheri Ganesh Puja mandal on Thursday wearing a red Masaba floor-length anarkali with Ganesh earrings from Amrapali.
Having wanting this anarkali since I first saw it on the designer’s Instagram, am just glad, Ms. Kapoor didn’t go overboard and ruin it for me. 😛 She looked nice.

Is she only wearing reds for the movie promotions?
Yes, she is only going to be Sonam-ma for the promos. We are lucky.
Curious if this tent silhouette will look good on regular people.
It won’t.
Was my very subtle dig to Payal since she wants this outfit 🙂
Haha! It think it will, if the length is tailored to one’s height. Alas, am too broke to get it. Will have to appreciate from afar!
Haha you’re such a champ to take it in good humor! I disagree though. At an average height of 5’5 or so for an Indian woman, even if this anarkali is tailored to fit length wise, it will be way too overwhelming. Tent would still be the only way to describe it. You’re probably taller, so may be that’s why you’re atttactws to it. 🙂
I am 5’4″ only. But, then I also like tent silhouettes. 😛
I think it would look nice on people with average height too. The fabrics drape is soft and the tight silhouette around the neckline would make anyone look slim (as long as the bosom size is average or below average).
I think you need to define the outfit somehow…see the fitted sleeves and skinny face. I think you will look great in it Payal!
If you are short and NOT skinny, no way can you carry off tents.
I am 5’4 n going by your insta pics, always thought you are 5’5 plus 🙂 For the anarkali, will look good on you Payal. 5’4 is a decent height.
It will if one is as tall n lean as Sonam/Athiya/Deepika n likes!
love the suit
The anarkali looks great on her. She is very tall and pretty much perfect for that silhouette.
Just not suiting her. So huge the outfit.
Agree with Payal. Earrings of this much size suit her face.
Genuine question – Does this come as just a Anarkali + Dupatta set? Are you not supposed to wear a churidar under it?
My pet peeve. They almost look like maxis and not churidaar set as you can ever see the churis
I hate when it looks like there’s no churidaar underneath, especially when there’s a dupatta accompanying the anarkali. If it’s without a bottom, it should be worn and styled as a maxi dress without a dupatta IMO.
After reading your comment I checked Masaba’s insta and believe me it is not as impressive on the model as it looks on Sonam. Such a beautiful red color, I found my love back for anarkalis.
She looks amazing here. Loving the look.
Looks less like anarkali (cant see the kalis) and more like a huge billowing kurta.. smart move to keep hair tied up!
