In Khaite
At a launch of products targeting expecting and new moms, Sonam was seen wearing an off-shoulder top from Khaite and skirt from Alaïa with suede boots (also Alaïa) and a black choker. Picking this outfit for this event just seemed super bizarre but I should by now know not to have any expectations when it comes to celebs and event appropriate dressing.

The top is from Khaite and the skirt is from Alaia.
Thanks! My skimming reading skills are failing me! 😛
She looks like she will join Akshay to dance on Dil Dooba…
Or twin with Kareena in Yeh Ishq Haaye:)
Sonam has lost her mojo
“ What are we waiting for? Christmas?! “
? ??? ?
I would say that this may not be weather appropriate because of the boots (assuming this is in Mumbai), but not sure why this would not be event appropriate. She’s not overdressed.
She looks nice in a fairly unexciting outfit.
This look *may* pass for a date night, GNO, MNO, attending a fashion show, etc but certainly not promoting anything unrelated to the brands she’s wearing. The whole outfit is giving Little Red Riding hood.
What’s inappropriate about it? Do we have a certain dress code for pregnant moms product launch events? I am confused!
Good catch
Exactly. The most obvious HHC approved route would have been a linen saree.
Reminds me of a barmaid costume at a Renaissance fair.
This outfit does make her look like a barmaid.
Too much going on. No prints yet one colour too many. The criss-cross white top sits too low (on arms) that I almost feel like pulling the arm bands for her. Boots are unnecessary, that choker looks like a leash.
Picturing it as: Slightly pulled up white top, strappy gold heels and a delicate gold neckpiece (a chain with a pretty pendant sorts). Skirt is great – really love the colour and for me that look is a winner.
Is it a great outfit? No. But is it inappropriate for the event? I don’t see why.
Is it because there’s… *gasp* …some cleavage on display? Of all people, moms know that breasts are natural and shouldn’t just be sexualized.
It’s so dated… Sonam has lost her fashion sense
