Delhi Couture Week 2011: Anju Modi
Taking to the runway for Anju Modi was Shraddha Kapoor. We can’t help but wonder if Ms. Kapoor’s addtion to the showing was rather last minute going by the way she was styled (and the outfit itself).
Here’s your peek into Anju Modi’s show at the Couture Week.

Read on some news website ..
“Earlier, Karisma Kapoor was suppose to walk for
Delhi-based designer but she backed out due to
family commitments. Anju then pitched for
Shraddha, within 24 hours, she was ready,” Anju added.
Priyanka Chopra or Karishma Kapoor was suppose to walk for this show as Anju Modi wanted a big actress according to sources. Shraddha replaced them. The design & hair/makeup looks out of place compared to the rest of this collection.
This Couture Week should have just been tagged as Lehenga/ Bridal-with-everything-plus-the-kitchen-sink-on-it Week.
Couture is NOT about taking yards of fabric and throwing all the Zardozi and plastic sequins one can muster at it. Sometimes just a beautifully done seam elevates an outfit from ordinary to couture… something our “top designers” and of course, the buying public, need to yet come around to. Looking at the pictures of these blinged out confections and the front row attendees, we’ve still a very long way to go.
u r so right! sparing a couple of pieces, the entire collection looks haphazard!
i double that… the indian funda is take everything you have and throw it at the dress.. and whats sticks lets sell its as couture… i hope for the sake of our industry that the market learn so differentiate between glorified tailors and couturiers….
what’s new about this collection – sadly, nothing novel or interesting!!
i like 2.5 and skirt of 3.3.
Not liking the suit like tops on these ghagras.
i think shraddha looks truly angelic and beautiful.
Love many looks in this collection… yes, very predictable but gorgeous play of colors, style and design!
actually, of all the garish outfits on display, I like how simple the outfit and styling is on shraddha…not bad at all
Its similar to Manish Malhotra’s clothes shown earlier.
nothing we havent already seen before. i agree with sheikha, it reminds me of manish malhotra’s earlier collection, too.
