In Nué

Shraddha kept it simple in a strapless faux leather dress from Nué paired with ankle-strap sandals. Ms. Kapoor likes to keep it simple but this outing was a bit too plain. I can understand not wanting to do a lot of makeup but this look could’ve been elevated with a statement necklace.

What did you think?

  1. There was a huge no-necklace trend during the award season that just ended in Hollywood (some say it’s inspired by the recent resurgence of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy as a style icon).

Maybe that’s what Shradda and her stylist are going for here.

I love the dress on her & she looks gorgeous in this minimalist getup. She’s such a pretty girl, but in general, I wish she’d put more effort into her incessantly bland HMU.

Wasn’t clear in my previous comment about the connection between the no-necklace trend and Bessette-Kennedy.

        So here it is:
According to fashion lore (and the plethora of 90’s pics from the paps that hounded her and her husband 24/7), Bessette-Kennedy was only ever seen wearing jewelry in public couple of times, one of them being a pearl necklace (with no earrings).

In her day-to-day looks, and at all the major fashion/society events she attended, she never wore jewelry. Even at her wedding, she didn’t wear a necklace or earrings (just the rings), despite being bequeathed some drool-worthy jewelry by her MIL, JKO.

Timeless classics & zero jewelry defined her looks. She was the queen of minimalism, working for the king of 90’s minimalism (Calvin Kline).

The fashion interwebs are convinced some of the major Hollywood stylists are currently obsessed with CBK and thus the no-jewelry (mostly no necklace) looks of their clients during the awards season that just ended was seen as an homage to CBK.

  2. I really miss the 2010s where we had Katrina, Sonam, Deepika, Priyanka, Kanagna and Kareena serve us such variety of looks, styles and personalities! These days red carpets have become a snoozefest where everyone looks so interchangeable in terms of looks, style and personality. Alia, Shradhdha, Kriti, Kiara, Ananaya ALL have such bland, pasty white complexion, clean, simple, curated yet bland looks without any dash of their own signature oomph. No hate to these girls, I could’ve perhaps appreciated a clean, simple no fuss look of Shraddha or someone else if others were bringing something else to the table but honestly everyone looks and styles themselves so similarly that it’s really sucked out the joy for me. A Mrunal or Shobhita makes me stand up and take notice

  3. I have an issue with the shoes…and why black ?…yes I agree it needed something to make the look pop either better shoes or some jewellery.
