At an event for her upcoming movie, Samantha sported a red Sabyasachi sari and a printed Arpita Mehta lehenga (for a performance). She looked nice in the sari but the fact that the sari was Sabya was quite a surprise. It didn’t really stand out. As for the lehenga, I wasn’t a fan of the jarring black top against the printed skirt.

That black piece of clothing is a top? It is a bra.
Agree. But for me, it looks better than the one boob out drape. There’s something really weird about popping one out and covering the other! (not as much emphasized here in the red saree, because of the matching colors).
So true, most of my comments are about how much I hate one boob drape but you put it right. There is something really weird about ‘making sure at any cost one boob has to pop out’ drape. Bra top looks good here with lehenga for me given the setting and romantic dance.
And calling it out, apparently is a regressive move

She looks super glam and fabulous in both the outfits. Sabya or not that saree and styling looked great on her.
that ‘Sabya’ sari is sooo regular and ordinary. What is remotely designer about it? Sam looks good in it coz of the color and the styling

The lehenga dupatta was like worn for the neck , that reminded me of mohabbatein drapes .. hence looking dated. Sari is meh… Deepika wore smthn similar .. plain black, plain self design red .. sabya has stopped evolving…just living off his label’s fame now.
the shiny red band at the edge of the saree is especially jarring, its puckering and makes the entire outfit look cheap.
That sabya saree is so roadside chic. Not even worth featuring.
