Agree about the treat to the eyes but that’s not unkempt hair. It’s just natural hair but we’re so conditioned to seeing overly styled and curated hair with extensions, wigs etc that when we see real hair we think of it as unkempt. The first thing I thought when I saw the pic was I haven’t seen hair like that in forever. Love her aesthetic

Someone a few days back was missing the raw beauty of Kajol from the DDLJ era… You have it here…Sai Pallavi… Almost no makeup and natural hair and that gorgeous smile. Love her, she could wear a tie n die sack and I’d still find her gorgeous!!

If it were some other celeb – it would have been garish blouse, loud makeup and loads of jewellery. Not to mentioned coiffed hair.

So refreshing to see a young person who is happy and comfortable in her own skin, after the endless line of over-processed, over-curated, same-same assembly line looks that seem to have become the Bollywood standard. I wish more young actors dared to be their own authentic selves.
I don’t love the sari but Sai Pallavi looks radiant, especially in the pic on the left. It takes a lot of confidence for an actress to go ‘au naturel’ both with her skin and hair.

Echo everyone’s comments here. Sai Pallavi is a natural beauty and it’s nice to see her not change a thing about herself just because she’s an actor.
There was a time with Deepti Naval, Pathak sisters, etc with emphasis on talent and good work instead of looks. Hope more women in the movie business learn to feel that confident about themselves again as Sai Pallavi is proving to be.
I suspect quite a few of our current set of bollywood actresses would look just as pretty without make up and heavily curated/styled looks. Just a thought.. but we will never get to see 🙂
On another note, there’s a whole industry depending on making celebrities look good, if everyone went Au Naturel, many folks would be jobless!
I don’t expect all the actresses to go make-up free and natural hair. But Sai Pallavi set herself as an example for other celebs by rejecting a 2 crore rupees fairness cream ad. That is to be expected from all celebs. Pallavi also rejects movies which are not up to her values.
Radiant, refreshingly at ease, this is the picture of a confident professional who is loving what she is wearing. No one can copy this look since it is her the wearers’s natural charm that is shining through. Not an ounce of cardboardiness. In not trying to make a statement she made the biggest one. Her smile also seems spontaneous.
