Sari Style
Rekha, who has been collaborating a lot with Manish Malhotra, was seen at Hema Malini’s birthday celebrations wearing a cream and white sari by the designer. Given all the embroidery, that sari was possibly quite heavy and stiff but she seemed to wear it with ease.

I wonder how much liter and cooler she’d look in relaxed jeans tops dresses and non cake make up.
But that’s not her aesthetic. It’s Rekha!!
That’s true, and great of her to retain it over decades. I’m just wondering why, try out more, change it up, relax, heavy make up n heavier clothes aren’t everything to looks, maybe this dressing up takes hours. Actresses her time have evolved in their styles. So just a thought.
One can also look very nice and light in crisp cotton Sarees – but that is also not Rekha.
Personally I am also not a fan of denim as a fabric any more I guess. Used to love them at some point though.
It’s rather tricky, no? When you are known and celebrated for a specific aesthetic, you kinda get “imprisoned” because it feels very risky to change things up… even if you are tired of that aesthetic. Ergo, you are stuck. This is the case not only with Rekha but many other celebs and style icons who end up caged by their own sartorial success.
It’s hard to find flaws in Rekha at any given time. She looks fabulous.
She looks fab!
Give me Rekha in her Kanjis any day. She’s the OG trendsetter — sad to see her doing a follow here with MM.
Nothing new here. Predictable drenched in white gold look. Colour wheel anyone?!
Colored stone jewelry would have looked nicer. I know she usually doesn’t wear emeralds but she does wear rubies.
