Sari Style

Rani opted for another satin silk sari, this time a coppery brown one to wear to an awards event pairing it with a simple diamond necklace. She looked fab. Someone is on a roll!

P.S. Sari is from Sabyasachi.

        • If women itself find boobs gross I dont know where this world is going. Yes, shabby and distasteful display of the boobs brings down the charm of the saree but here its not that bad.

          • The same women who clutch their pearls at the famous one-boob drape in a saree, will not raise an eyebrow at an equally formfitting dress/top which lies “undraped”. This need to see the saree or a dupatta as a “lajja-vastra” is so boringly patriatchal. Get with the programme, women, some ladies like draping it like this, avert your eyes if you’re so offended

        • of all the instances that Bollywood gives us to troll the one boob drape, this is not it!
This is pretty great compared what we see usually.

    • What an absolutely ridiculous thing to say. What, pray tell, is awkward about showing a piece of clothing that covers a body part completely? How is it different than a t-shirt or a crop top. Is she baring a boob that you think it looks awkward?

    • The colour and the density of the fabric.
See if you find the exact colour or even similar colour elsewhere.
And the density of the fabric plays an important role in how the material will flow, crimp or gloss.
Even a plain saree like that if comes from a designer’s daily bread and butter, has efforts behind it.

    • This is the problem with monochromatic sarees – I have a parrot green crepe which also shows the slightest water drop, it’s very annoying

honestly don’t understand the one boob drape AT ALL..it will always be tacky lol. We get it—there is a bosom and all but crossbody/ sling drape is not IT…

  2. Rani looks timeless and lovely in this Saree. Love the bronze on her. Still don’t like the one boob drape but at least this one is not as revealing as the one she wore during Durga Puja at the Pandal. That one was an OOPS! waiting to happen.
Curious about the contrasting colored stitched panel on the right side of her blouse. What is that? It runs all the way from her right shoulder to her right under boob area. Is that a new trend as well?

  3. For young-uns, this monochromatic saree is quite a vintage look. Back in the 80s many of us wore absolutely plain sarees, most often with absolutely plain blouses and let dramatic jewellery do the talking. Not having a border or a pallu doesn’t disqualify 6 yards from becoming a saree.
