Rakul attended the launch event of a phone recently wearing a Vineti Bolaki gown. Besides the fact that the gown seemed like poor recreation of the Valli ones, it really didn’t do much for her.

These guys have no shame ? Specially during internet era…where information is available so easily…indian fashion fraternity should form a board …to check on such designers
I like the dress on her. Its a clean look.

If it is, then a very poor rip off. Case if not getting the design envisioned but copying it anyways in haste. The one on Rakul gives bad illusion, caught up In riff.
I’m sorry but even the original gown is no good. Why copy something ugly? Thats why my grandma used to say “nakal kay liye bhi akal chahiye”
100% agreed. Rakul did add his own spin on it – different color and no-sleeves. So, certainly its not a rip-off. However, it is not a great silhouette to begin with so I wonder why he bothered to improvise.
So ” recreation” is acceptable term for “copying” in the Industry?
I don’t know which world people live in but fashion industry is 99.9% recreation.
Good designers just make a better copy than the bad ones
A better example is a sari – so we applaud raw mango for it’s silk styled ones but we trash MM for his blingy ones.
One designer appealed to our taste and the other didn’t but they both had the same style of drape, same yardage of fabric.
She is such a wannabe.
