In Nicolas Jebran

Priyanka attended the Clive Davis Pre-Grammy party on Saturday evening wearing a satin gown by Nicolas Jebran with Bvlgari jewels and Stuart Weitzman satin pumps.

Didn’t care for the gown one bit. You like?

  1. She seems to favour these kind of dresses! Thigh high slit tick, backless dress tick! Only thing not trademark of her seen in this dress is the cleavage show!!

    • Compensated by the side boob show. Priyanka cannot not complete her own tackfest these days. I think she needs to understand her body type. I mean she is in great shape for a woman of her age and kudos to flaunting her curves, but it’s like she is forever stuck in this teen phase. Something more appropriate for her current body type will be helpful.

      • “For a woman her age”, “more appropriate for her body type”? I don’t care for Priyanka or this terrible dress, but really these kinds of comments are the worst, particularly when they’re said by one woman about another.

Also, she’s just 37. Come on. This would never be said about a 37-year-old guy, who would be considered in his prime.

Payal/Priyanka, I hope you don’t delete this comment as you seem to do with so many others.

        • @bozo: With due respect, women empowerment is not about male bashing or male comparison. I am sure I won’t look as good as her when I’m 37. She looks great. That being said, I wouldn’t even look half as beautiful as sharmilaji when I reach her age (she is 75 by the way). I didn’t comment about 37 year old men and I have no idea how that thought came to you. I am not talking about 37 year old mean. It’s not a gender comparison game, and I was praising her throughout (if you didn’t notice that) and it would be better if she understood her body type for dressing. The whole ‘women empowerment/feminist’ conversation should be a part of another blog. We were talking about clothes here I guess which suit people. Didn’t want to take the anti feminist route and provoke the ire of gender equalists on this page; Especially when the comment was about how good looking the women on these pages are and my opinions about what looks best on them. Leave a fashion blog away from such comments. Everything doesn’t have to be an andolan.

      • In contrast, No male celebrity guest is/was wearing unzipped pants or pants displaying their backside, at the pre-Grammy or tonight at the Grammy’s.

Looks like women are truly “modern” 🙂

      • Come on… It’s not a teen phase dress. I haven’t seen any (celebrity) teenager wearing satin gown. And that’s what we don’t need. Understanding body type and then choosing of dress. I feel it’s all about carrying it with confidence. She is looking good minus that make up.

  2. The propensity to overpaint the faces of our desi actresses is beyond comical these days plus middle parted hair on her thick mane makes it look like a wig ( sad!)

Can’t get past the undereye concealer separating the boundary between the blusher and bronzer (pet peeve!)

She went through so much effort…imagine a saree instead…

  3. Her under eye concealer is literally visible – a huge faux pas by any standards. And we are talking Priyanka Freakin Chopra here!
She should fire the MUA responsible for this.

The dress reminds me of her notorious scene in ‘Fashion’ when wakes up and gets out of her bed. Enough said.

  4. I don’t know about her makeup… maybe shes a bit fairer in the face compared to the rest of her body. I am. My face and neck are much fairer than my arms and legs. My hands are 4-5 shades darker than my face. Probably that’s why I’m not an actress hahaaaa

  5. She needs to do something about her hair. Is it a wig? It brings down almost all her looks.

After all these years it’s a shame she still has make up issues.

This gown/wrap/whatever is awful. The waist detail is sitting too low on her, probably designed for tall models. May be with sleek hair and styling it would have been bearable. But right now this is a big miss.

    • I think she looks fab, too. The colour is superb on her, and her hair (or extensions – don’t know and don’t care) looks so lush! She’s a beauty. The gown itself is not great, especially the detail at the waist. If it sat a bit higher, it would have flattered her proportions even more.

  6. My first reaction was, she looks stunning! Then I read the description & comments. I still think she looks lovely, the color looks great on her and I love the flowing pattern of gown.

  7. How gross! Omg.. there are some closer pix of her as well & she looks just all kinds of *opposite of elegant*. Tbh though she was always tacky- remember the phase of short tight dresses & heels ? & that makeup ? So garish!

  8. Vinod Mehra, Sanjeev Kumar, Jeetendra etc used to play rich playboys in the 1970s movies and this used to be their satin lungis

    • Came here to write the same.

But you know what, I think that look is quite representative of how PC feels about herself. And perhaps we are wrong in commenting on her right to feel that way (sartorially).

      • Hahahaa, but honestly, not sure if HHC will post the outfit in all its “glory” on these pages. Have to say that is the furthest she has pushed the envelope (pun intended) 😛

    • +1. I had to do a double take to believe what I was seeing.
compared to that, this is relatively much better.
I cannot imagine what is she thinking .. Yes, Priyanka, you are hot.. you have a great body .. but there are so many better gowns available at your disposal.. why pick the tackiest ones?

  9. PC continues her lacklustre (& I’m being polite here) run! That whitewashed face, middle parted wig, voluminous satiny gown…absolutely nothing works!

  10. I saw her gramy dress first and then this so this one made me think it is ok compared to grammy one :). The make up though is bad….we must embrace our skin colour .

  11. I agree with how this looks once you see her Grammy dress. She is doing what most of hollywood does anyway. I think it is hard to walk the red carpet in whatever one likes (like a sari/desi ensemble for example) unless you are truly a A-lister and a super bigwig in that world.
She has entered hollywood mainstream but perhaps isn’t that big a star to call the shots and wear whatever she likes defying norms (read skinshow).
All that known, she looks pretty in this dress. Just wondering if this is too long given how much material pools on the floor trailing behind her.

  12. I think the outfit makes her look short and broad – or perhaps it is the angle of the photo. Her hair in the grammy outfit was so much more flattering – I think she should stick to it. Such a pretty woman – she could do so much better.
