In Twos

Back to back award events saw Ms. Sanon in sparkly outfits, first in a white sari from Seema Gujral and then in a structured top and skirt from Gaurav Gupta. Between the two, preferred her in the black here. The sari even with all its glitter just seemed so lacklustre.

Also to add, the black may be the better outing here but it lacked punch. The pumps just felt oh-so-boring here. I feel like this is a look that could’ve used more edgy accessories. Ms. Sanon tends to be more safe in her fashion choices and I really would love to see her take some risks every now and then. One finds out what went wrong and you learn from it and do better the next time.

In Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla

Wearing an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla sari and cape, Bhumi attended an awards ceremony on Saturday evening. The small win here was that Ms. Pednekar got her cup sizing right. Now let’s get to the sari and cape. Personally, I don’t like the cape. I wish the cape was full sheer or full embroidered.

While this was better than her recent looks, I do picture the sari worn the with the pallu unpleated and down and think it would’ve made for a nice casual yet striking look. What say you?

In Puneet Kapoor Label

At an awards ceremony, Huma was seen in a sequin sari-gown from Puneet Kapoor Label. Let’s talk about the positive here first. Her hair and makeup was spot and and she looked great neck up.

Now, let’s get to the obvious negative. The dress. Between the length of the velvet skirt, the clash of the sequin and velvet material and the design of the skirt itself, there was nothing really left to like. Also, when one has seen Rimzim’s exquisite design, it’s really hard to appreciate this. See Rimzim’s design inside.

Wearing an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla white anarkali paired and black jacket, Sonam attended an event on Saturday evening. Hair up in a bun, she finished out her look with silver ear cuffs and chunky bangles. When it comes to the designer duo’s colorful stuff, sometimes it can feel a bit garish because of all the excess but Ms. Kapoor has a knack of picking pieces that works best on her as was the case here. She looked great!
