Back to back award events saw Ms. Sanon in sparkly outfits, first in a white sari from Seema Gujral and then in a structured top and skirt from Gaurav Gupta. Between the two, preferred her in the black here. The sari even with all its glitter just seemed so lacklustre.

Also to add, the black may be the better outing here but it lacked punch. The pumps just felt oh-so-boring here. I feel like this is a look that could’ve used more edgy accessories. Ms. Sanon tends to be more safe in her fashion choices and I really would love to see her take some risks every now and then. One finds out what went wrong and you learn from it and do better the next time.

  1. i think toning down her height for her male co-stars has led to a major tone-down of all her footwear! that black outfit would have been an A=plus with the right sky-high sandals and possibly a diamond bracelet.

  2. Unless you are a Bollywood insider aka non-nepo, you don’t get offered top of the line stuff. Even if these actors wear MM/AJSK/etc, you will notice, it is usually the lower end of their collections. So the likes of Kriti/Huma/etc. who are stunning women, have to make do with mediocre designs and random labels. Pity, but that’s how the way things roll in Bollywood.

    • Agree, her clothes and even Huma’s always have inexpensive looking fabric… Imagine her wearing Sonam’s white and black look. She’d have hit it out of the park.
And hey P&P please use the same yardstick for all please.

  3. She looks FABULOUS in the black number. I honestly think fashion critics go way too hard on her (this blog and Diet Sabya which is an out right bully). I agree she gets it wrong more often than not but when she gets it right it’s never a whole-hearted praise and there is nitpicking which other Dharma girlies are not subjected to – for instance Alia’s recent ill-fitted white blouse, shabby drape and very mediocre saree. Add to that Kriti has to work with the designs she gets. Anyway, coming to this. Hate the white saree look. The blouse is really badly done, and the styling lacks a punch. I wish she goes back to black hair. I would’ve posted the black look separately and given the girl a whole-hearted praise she deserves in this cut throat BW world dominated by the nepo kids. It’s sharp, clean and the make-up is perfect. Perhaps a better footwear could’ve elevated it but this works too.

  4. She looks stunning in black. I’ve seen this blog praising not-half-as-good-A-listers, but sometimes nitpicking and expecting 100% perfection from the rest. The bar is different depending on who the celebrity is.

    • Yes, nepo kids and other A listers get a free pass on several lack lustre appearances. I am not a fan of Kriti and Huma, but I think it’s unfair to bully non A listers.

  5. Her makeup in the black outfit is perfect. I think this side parted pulled back hair suits her more than the usual middle parted poker straight hair
