Arpan Vohra
Sail Away was the theme of Arpan Vohra‘s resort collection and the nautical theme was evident throughout mainly with the rope embellishment that was featured in most pieces. The color palette was mostly white with a bit of blue and red thrown in. Instead of dressing Ria (his showstopper) in the white mini, the designer may have made more of an impact having her wear one of the more colorful numbers that were far more appealing.

Masaba: LFW Summer/Resort 2011

Masaba’s strength lies in her ability to pair dramatic and strong contrasting colors together and making ’em work. She also has this knack for picking out a print that sticks. In this collection it was the ‘foot-impression’which she did use really well. We loved the use of polka dots and the animal print draped jumpsuit was one of our favorites pieces from the collection.

As fun and youthful as this collection was, and now that Masaba’s found her groove, we do think now she ought to perhaps pour in tad more thought into the finish of these products.

Anand Kabra: LFW Summer/Resort 2011

Anand Kabra’s collection was rich in various wearable seperates, be it sharply tailored jackets, fluid/flowy skirts, saris or draped tops. Our favorites had to be the minimal, sharply tailored clothes in grey as well as the ones in the tribal print. The latter almost had a vintage DvF vibe.

In Manish Malhotra

Back in Jan, Hard attended Manish’s show at the Chivas Fashion Studio sporting a boucle dress and some pretty big hair. Looks like she liked what she saw at the show because tonight at the designer’s showing at LFW, she was spotted in an outfit showcased at the Jan show.

We’ve seen Urmila sport the dhoti pants look from the same collection. In comparison to those, I much prefer Hard’s outfit although those navy ankle-strap sandals stick out like a sore thumb.

Just like Sona in her Sabya, I love everything about this look but the dress. Sophie was flawless when it came to the hair/makeup. But, the low/ill-fitted bust of the dress makes it an Almost.
